Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1382: Going to Help at the Office
It wasn't until late afternoon that Paulina and her group returned home without panic.
The car had just pulled into the yard when Marcos' car pulled up next to it.
Paulina got out of the car and reached over to take the suit jacket from his hand. "Why are you so early today?"
"There's less to do today." Marcos closed the door behind him and looked deeply at her.
Paulina smiled faintly, "We went out shopping today and bought a lot of clothes for the kids."
"Tired?"
"A little." Paulina didn't realize that her voice carried a hint of smugness.
Mark's heart fluttered slightly and he couldn't resist leaning over to plant a soft kiss on her forehead.
Then, lowering his eyes, he looked into her slightly surprised eyes and the corners of his lips slowly curved up, "Are you still tired?"
The voice was low, with a husky edge, like a long-brewed wine, rich and lovely.
Paulina's cheeks reddened, and she glared at him, "No, I'm not tired!"
"But I am tired."
"Then go home and rest." She was about to walk toward the door when suddenly her wrist was tugged and she heard the man whisper in her ear, "I won't be tired if you kiss me." Hearing this, Paulina's hand gave a jerk and she raised her eyes.
They met.
The look on his face was serious, he didn't seem to be joking.
"I ..." Paulina unconsciously turned her head.
Only to see that Mr. Juan, Mrs. Gloria and the Alvaro couple were there, each of them looking at her and Marcos with a look of interest.
"Sister-in-law, my brother has not taken a moment's rest today to get home early. He has worked a lot and is very tired, oh."
Alvaro deliberately interrupted himself, making everyone else laugh.
"Alvaro!" Paulina glared at him and whispered to Marcos, "Wait until we go upstairs.... There are too many people now, I ......." She meant that she was too thin-skinned to kiss him in front of everyone.
But before she could finish the sentence, she found herself wrapped in his arms.
She blinked, a confused expression on her face.
"I won't get tired if I hug you."
His voice rang in her ears and Paulina slowly lifted the corners of her lips and opened her arms to wrap around his waist.
Seeing this, Mr. Juan, Ms. Gloria and the others looked at each other and couldn't help but smile.
"You must not get tired." Paulina broke away from his embrace and looked at him with a hint of concern in her eyes.
Marcos lifted a hand and tied her cheek strands of hair behind her ear and said softly, "Don't mind Alvaro, I'm not tired, those jobs are easy for me to carry." "That's good." Paulina breathed a sigh of relief.
"Mom, is it time to start dinner? If not, I'm almost full!" shouted Alvaro suddenly.
The others reacted to his words and they all burst out laughing.
"Brat, is it going to cost you not to laugh at Paulina all day?". scolded Mrs. Gloria with a laugh.
Alvaro made an innocent face, "I'm hungry, nothing else."
"Of lust." Bonita looked at him unamused.
"Honey, why are you talking about me too?". Alvaro looked at her accusingly.
Bonita laughed at his aggravated expression, "Why are you such a big mouth?".
"As long as you like it."
Alvaro suddenly hugged her and kissed her.
Bonita gave a little gasp of surprise and looked a little helpless.
Looking at her two sons and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gloria said, "How nice for a family to be together forever."
Mr. Juan put his arm around her shoulders, "It would be."
Mrs. Gloria smiled, "Yes, we will."
...
Since Esteban and Sweety were also starting school, Paulina was free.
This day, after helping Mrs. Gloria sort and pack the flower cafe, she stood looking at the neat row of glass vases.
Mrs. Gloria walked in, saw the scene and called out, "Paulina."
The sudden sound of the voice brought Paulina back to her senses and she turned her head to look at Mrs. Gloria, "Mama?"
Mrs. Gloria asked as she put the bottle away in the cupboard, "Is it boring?".
Paulina answered truthfully, "A little."
"Then take Bonita and go for a walk together." Ms. Gloria suggested.
"The other day we went shopping."
Ms. Gloria thought for a moment, "Then take a walk in the garden."
Paulina turned her head to look out the window, the sun was shining boringly in her heart, "No."
"Then go upstairs and read a book?"
"Yes."
Paulina went back to her room and pulled out the book she hadn't finished earlier and continued reading.
The book was about the inspiring life of a successful woman.
As she looked at it, it suddenly occurred to Paulina that she was about the same age as the heroine, but that she had her own career, while she was too bored to know what to do. She couldn't go on like this.
She had to find something to do.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind and the corners of her mouth slowly lifted, her eyes sparkled.
She knew what she had to do.
...
In the evening, Marcos and Alvaro got off work and the family sat down at the restaurant to finish eating.
"I want to go help at the office." Paulina suddenly spoke up.
Everyone looked at her.
"Paulina, why do you suddenly want to help in the office?" asked Mr. Juan.
Paulina smiled bitterly, "Because I'm too idle at home, so I could find something to do."
Mr. Juan nodded, "That's true. You're still too young, you can't stay at home for the rest of your life."
"Sister-in-law, you could be the brother's secretary." Alvaro suggested.
"A secretary?" Paulina looked at Marcos with doubt written in her eyes.
Could I?
"Of course you can." said Marcos.
Paulina looked surprised that he had read her thoughts.
Alvaro added, "Brother had two secretaries before, but one was about to resign because she was pregnant. If you're willing, I'll save myself the trouble of hiring another outside." "Okay." replied Paulina, smiling at Dulce as she said to Marcos, "I'll be in your good books, Mr. Marcos."
A slight smile tugged at the corners of Marcos' mouth, "Yes."
The next day, Paulina followed Marcos to the Leoz Group.
In less than half an hour, the news that the president's new secretary was the president's wife spread throughout the company.
Marcos explained to his assistant that he should take Paulina to familiarize her with the company and teach her a few things about how to run the business.
The assistant took Paulina to all the departments and the staff greeted her warmly.
When she returned to her office, Paulina found her cheeks stiff with laughter.
She reached up and rubbed her hand.
After a while, the assistant came in and placed a file in front of her.
"These are the company's operating figures, can you take a look at them and tell me if anything is unclear."
Paulina nodded, "Okay."
When the assistant came out, she opened the file and looked at it carefully.
All morning she had been reading through various documents, asking the assistant about anything she didn't understand, and the assistant would carefully and thoughtfully explain what was going on. With the assistant's teaching, Paulina quickly understood and had a general understanding of what her job entailed in a morning.
