Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1340: I'm wrong
Edwards walked over to Edwina, who had broken down emotionally, and sighed, "It's obvious you love him, why did you push him away?" "Why?" Edwina cocked her head, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Because ... of the status disparity."
"Edgar doesn't seem to mind that."
"He doesn't care, his parents do."
A statement that explained everything that had happened.
"Have his parents approached you?" Edwards asked.
Edwina didn't answer.
Edwards frowned, "It's because of my sister, I think."
You could tell that Edgar's parents were happy with Elva, and so they surely couldn't accept their son being with a girl from a normal family.
"I'm not even close to Mrs. Elva, both in terms of person and family history."
At this point, Edwina smiled to herself, "It's better to break off this relationship rather than suffer later."
"Are you really willing to do that?" Edwards asked eagerly as he looked into her red, watery eyes.
Edwina took a deep breath, "What can I do if I'm not willing?"
If she didn't part with Edgar, then Dulce would never let her and Bonnie leave.
She didn't care, but Bonnie was just a child and she couldn't stand by and watch him get hurt because of her own selfishness.
With that in mind, she raised her eyes and met Edwards' gaze squarely, "Did you and my sister have the same problem then?" Edwards froze at the sudden question.
"You're surprised I know about you and my sister." Edwina's eyes filled with tears again at the mention of her late sister. "She loved you too, even during those last days of her life, every time she called out your name in her sleep." Constance.
Edwards just felt as if his heart was being strangled by an invisible hand, and it hurt.
"I couldn't understand what my sister did before, I always wondered why she would separate from you if she loved you so much, even ..." Edwina found it hard to say.
Edwards slowly closed his eyes, "I'm sorry I failed your sister."
Edwina let out a long sigh, "As sorry as I am you will never get my sister back."
Yes, Constance was never coming back.
Edwards chest was so tight he could barely breathe thinking about it.
"Why did you break up with Edgar if you knew how much your sister was suffering?" Edwards asked, not understanding.
"Because I loved him. Just like my sister loved you and chose to leave so that you would be complete, so that your family would be complete."
Loving someone doesn't have to mean owning that person.
Sometimes letting go is just a matter of wishing them a happier life.
Because of Constance, Edwards became even more distressed with Edwina and immediately told her, "Let me take care of you and Bonnie from now on, as a way of making it up to Constance." "That's not necessary." Edwina refused, "Bonnie and I will leave Kyoto and start a new life somewhere where no one knows us."
"You're going to leave Kyoto?" Edwards was a little taken aback.
"Good." Edwina nodded, "I know Edgar, he doesn't give up easily. But once I'm gone, in time, his feelings for me will fade."
This way, he could start a life of his own.
"Where do you plan to go?" Edwards asked.
"I don't know yet."
Edwina wiped away her tears and smiled at him, "Mr. Edwards, when Bonnie and I leave, remember to visit my sister more often, she would love to have you visit her." Edwards nodded, "Good."
...
When Edgar arrived home and entered the living room, he heard Dulce's question, "Why did you come home so late today, did you see that woman again?" Edgar had intended to ask her politely about Edwina, but hearing those two words brought his emotions to the surface.
"Mom, she has a name, her name is Edwina!"
His tone was not very pleasant, or rather a bit impulsive.
Dulce froze for a few seconds before she reacted, frowning, "I was just asking you where you'd been, why are you throwing such a tantrum?"
Edgar took a deep breath, suppressing his irritation, and asked patiently, "Mom, have you been to see Edwina?"
Dulce blushed, but quickly recovered and said, "What are you talking about, why don't I understand?"
"Mom, did you go to see Edwina?".
Since she didn't understand, she repeated the question.
"Did she tell you?" asked Dulce.
"No, she didn't say anything. It was a guess of mine." Edgar looked at her with godlike determination.
Dulce instantly felt a little faint. "Yes, I went to see her, but I didn't say or do anything."
"You did?" Edgar scoffed, "The more you say that, the more proof you have that you told her something, otherwise she couldn't have wanted to break up with me for no reason."
At that, Dulce's face lit up with joy and she asked impatiently, "Is he really breaking up with you?"
Anger surged again, but Edgar restrained himself and denied, "No, there's no way we're breaking up."
Dulce was clearly disappointed.
Was Edwina the woman who was just cajoling her and didn't want to break up at all?
"Mom, I repeat that I will only love Edwina for the rest of my life and I will only marry her to take her home. I don't want any other woman."
Edgar made his attitude clear.
Dulce's face hardened, "What is so good about that woman that you are so deeply in love with her?"
"In my eyes, she's the best."
Dulce laughed in exasperation, "Well, we'll see if you're wrong or if I'm right."
Edgar frowned, "What are you trying to do again?".
"Now you're questioning me? I'm your mother, do you think it's right for you to treat me with that attitude?". asked Dulce instead of answering him.
"Mom, I'm telling you for the record, if you dare to hurt Edwina, then don't blame me for disregarding your feelings and Dad's."
"You brat! Are you threatening me?" Dulce was trembling with rage and pointed her finger at his nose and cursed, "Look at what you have become now, how dare you treat me like that for a woman, have you ever considered my feelings!" At that moment, Dulce burst into tears as she continued to accuse him, "I just want you to have a peaceful Bonnie and a trouble-free life in the future, am I wrong?"
In one night, watching the two most important women in his life cry.
Edgar reached up and rubbed his aching forehead as his tone softened, "Mom, I understand your pain. But you can think for me what I need."
What he needed was a relationship where he could decide for himself.
He really wanted everyone to understand him.
