Love Began with the First Meeting
Chapter 1311 Extra Story 66 Of Edgar Love And Happiness

Maggie laughed through her tears at Wilson's words. Her mind was still spinning with relief. She was embarrassed about her earlier foolish notions and didn't know what to say. Wilson didn't want to put Maggie on the spot. He smiled and broke the tense silence. "Well, the dining hall is serving lunch now. You look like you could use a bite to eat."

"Okay, thank you, Wilson. Bye! See you later!" Maggie replied as she hugged him in relief. And then she strode away towards her dorm. The spring had crept back into her step. She had skipped a class because Edgar had just turned up at her school and the chief monitor had asked her to come to his office.

Benjamin and Monica hadn't come to the class either. They stopped Maggie on her way back to the dorm. They crossed their arms and stamped their feet, acting like two rascals.

"Maggie, come clean to us, or you'll be punished!" Monica gnashed her teeth as she excitedly harangued Maggie for details. She sounded like the chief monitor.

"I can't believe that you didn't tell us you already had a boyfriend! You kept us in the dark all this time! It makes us really sad," Benjamin agreed, pretending to be wiping tears away.

Maggie rolled her eyes at him when she heard this. "What are you talking about? Are you playing in a drama?" Maggie asked, talking her palm to her face and shaking her head. "Okay, okay. I was wrong. I'm sorry. I'm hungry. Let's go to the dining hall. I'll buy your lunch. Then, I'll clear it up for you," she added, comforting them.

"That sounds better. Let's go!" Monica said, her puckish grin widening.

Maggie followed after Monica, laughing softly and taking her hands in hers. "Honey, don't be mad, okay? I know what I did was wrong. Let me make it up to you. You can eat whatever you want. Just forgive me," she said, giving Monica a roguish wink. "Do you want me to forgive you? It depends on what you'll buy for me," Monica replied as she winked at Benjamin.

After they arrived at the dining hall, Maggie ordered many delicious dishes for Monica and Benjamin. "Please enjoy yourselves," she said, acting like a waitress, even sliding a pen behind one ear as if she were taking their orders. Their laughter complimented Maggie's good mood. She couldn't wait to share her love story with her best friends.

Monica and Benjamin looked stunned and exchanged surprised looks after hearing the whole story from Maggie. "Oh, my God, it's so dramatic! You should be a writer," they said together and then laughed.

"So, you made the first move to pursue him? Edgar never replied your messages, but you bothered him day after day. Today, he came to you and you initiated the first kiss. Just like a moth drawn to a flame. Maggie, are you crazy? I think that you've fried your brain," Monica said as she touched Maggie's forehead.

"Exactly, Monica is right. I'm a man and I know those military men better than anybody. He got you very easily. But Maggie, I thought that a true treasure is not lightly won. The best way to treat men is like flying kites. You must hold onto the string and take the initiative. You can get close with him, but you can also pull him away from you. You have to remain a mystery to him. But you, you're making yourself too available, just like an easy girl." Benjamin cautioned with a worried face.

Maggie shrugged her slender shoulders, not knowing how to respond to Benjamin's words of warning. "I know, but I don't have a choice. I love Edgar, but he didn't respond to me before. Texting him was the only thing I could do. He has many admirers back in the S Army. If I cut off all communication with him, he may become someone else's boyfriend, and then he won't be mine.

If he won't cherish me in the future, just like you said, I'll just say that I loved the wrong person," Maggie explained. "I can't control my feelings. I can't give him up easily. Could you give up your beloved very easily?" she asked while chewing some delicious tidbits, her face had become crestfallen though. Benjamin and Monica were very quiet for a minute after they heard Maggie's words.

They had never fallen in love with someone, but Maggie had had a crush on Edgar for many years. They couldn't fully understand or feel what she was going through. Then, after a lengthy silence, Benjamin carried on the conversation. "Edgar is a busy man. I mean, you know that he has been so busy focusing on his career. Maybe he is too busy to be a bad boy. So, I'm going to take back everything I ever said about Edgar. I just want you to be happy in the future."

"Yeah, forget what I said. You're a brave girl. You deserve it, baby. You deserve it all," Monica comforted her too.

In the afternoon, Maggie's attentions were distracted from her lessons. Her mind was filled with the scenario of Edgar kissing her. Monica said that this symptom was called 'the thirst for love.' The class took a long time. And time seemed to slow down as it dragged along. After class, Maggie prepared to rush out of the classroom. She couldn't wait to meet Edgar. But before she could move though, Benjamin and Monica stopped her. "We know you love him. But don't get drunk with love! You must test him and make sure that he isn't just a man who only has a keen interest in sex!" they kept telling Maggie. "Okay, okay. Don't worry! I'll do everything you've told me to do," Maggie replied to them.

Then she ran to her dorm and dressed up a little. When she arrived at the school gate, Edgar was already there. Clothed in a casual coat, dark trousers, a crisp white shirt, and a pair of glasses, Maggie stared at him without blinking. She was severely tempted by his manly charms. He carried himself with the grace and maturity of a real man. ☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
