I placed Axel on the dresser of the room and I sat him up straight and then I took a brush and began to comb his hair, placing them on the side. Axel looked at me seriously and carefully with every move I made.

“We make ourselves beautiful for mom,” I said, looking into his eyes, “Mom,” I said clearly so that he would understand

“Mama,” he replied, clapping his hands.

The package was left at the door, Lucas wrote to me.

Maya looked at us both and then put the envelopes on the ground “You made a deal with Lucas” she immediately asked.

“Maybe,” I said, searching.

“Chicken Marsala” I answered, moving to the side and making a gesture to enter. Axel imitated me and Maya laughed cheerfully before going before me.

I hurried and put Axel in his place, at the head of the table before I moved the chair for Maya and let her sit. Maya made a sound of appreciation while I poured the wine into her glass.

“To what do I owe all this courtesy? Do you want to get into my pants?” she asked after a sip of wine.

“I don’t think I have to go to all this trouble to get into your pants,” I said, frowning and putting the chicken in the middle of the table.

Maya looked at him frowning, then smiled. I got up and took Axel’s food plate and put it in front of him, with the dinosaur spoon he liked so much.

Maya laughed and approached, starting to feed it while I poured her more wine. Axel took away her the spoon and began to eat alone, spraying his soup everywhere.

“Please don’t” I cried.

Maya took the spoon out of his hand again and started feeding him and feeding herself. I couldn’t eat, my stomach was upset from the anxiety.

Maya fed Axel again and then looked at me, with a frowning forehead “Don’t you eat? Is it poisoned by any chance?!” she laughed theatrically.

“How dare you! I would never do that!” I said.

Maya laughed and ended up feeding Axel and then returning to her plate.

“What did you do today?” she asked as he ate more chicken.

“Shopping,” I said, spicing some food.

“Just shopping?”

“It’s a secret,” I winked at her and drank some wine.

“Since when have you kept secrets from me?” she asked, frowning.

“How was today?” I changed the subject.

“Very well!” she immediately replied cheerfully “Jess was happy, it’s the first time since she told me about this pregnancy that I saw her happy!” Maya’s eyes shone with happiness “And you can’t even imagine! Twins! They will have twins!” she said cheerfully.

Axel clapped his hands following his mother’s voice, feeling the happiness in her.

“This brings me back one by two,” I said, reflecting and giving Axel a toy.

“Don’t even think about it,” Maya said almost immediately.

“Think about what?” I pretended to be stupid.

“No. Axel is still too young and I don’t want to now,” she said clearly.

I swallowed the loot that had formed in my mouth “But further on?” I asked, looking at her.

Maya held out her hand and took one of mine, passing her thumb on her back, “In the future, I will also have ten children with you, Nate Dare,” she said.

I took her hand and carried it to my mouth, then gave her a little k**s. I felt her skin shiver under my touch and she smiled at me. My heart galloped fast.

Maya shook my hand and then got up, taking the plates and taking them to the sink. I also got up and picked up Axel and he squealed, his eyes a little sleepy.

I took the case off his jacket and opened it, revealing the silver ring with the brilliant on it. The diamond was shining and next to it, on each side, there was a bluestone. I took a deep breath and held it in Axel’s hand, and I approached his ear.

“Give it to mom,” I said quietly.

Axel immediately rang cheerfully shouting “Mama!” at the top of his lungs.

Maya froze in front of the sink and immediately turned and looked wide-eyed at Axel, who handed her the open case with the ring.

Maya looked away at the ring and opened her mouth wide before looking at me, her eyes shining as I cleared my throat, trying to get rid of the vice that twisted my guts.
