Inner Woman Volume 2 -
7 Takkakaw Falls
My neck arched back
in rainbow mist
the top obscured
in prism sparkle
The granite gleamed
boulders slick
shivers crept
up my neck
I was but ten
I couldn’t stay
there was no way
Winter frozen
Ice crystal heaven
blue ice shadows
on cross country skis
Shivers crept
through my body
brought home the wonder
of nature’s power
as Big Horn’s battle
with booming clatter
In spring, ice floes
rush the bridge, blocks
drop as break up shakes
prisms free and sunshine
pierces me
Shivers shake me
once again
