I'm Not Yours, Alpha -
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 77
Julian carried his two puppies in his belly. He could keep all 3 of them without any problem and give them a quiet life even if the omega wanted to go back to work. He could buy them any house they wanted. Love would not be lacking for any of them. He could protect them, besides Julian had told him so, he loved him, so there was no chance he would turn him down after his statement.
But he didn’t wait for Julian’s words.
-Can you leave?
…
-Huh?
He tried to get up making Madox run backwards even though he was shocked.
-You didn’t hear what I just said. I want to bond with you. Let’s be partners. I’m going to take care of our daughters, I’m going to take care of you.
Julian sat up, running his hand over his belly. His face was shadowed.
-Yes, I heard you… and?” a faint layer of her pheromones enveloped him, pheromones of discomfort.
The alpha couldn’t get over his astonishment. That had been a total rejection and he didn’t know how to react to it. His alpha pride was hurt, but more than that he was hurt. He made every effort to avoid enveloping the omega with his scent to get that anxious feeling out of him and to control his own pheromones.
-Are you saying that you don’t want to be with me, Julian?
He turned his face the other way dodging her heavy gaze. She pursed her lips before asking the question that so far proved to be the most difficult of her life.
-Madox…what am I to you? Do you want to be my mate because I’m pregnant or because you love me?” he raised his gaze. The alpha was an open book when it came to feeling so her expression would tell him what he really wanted to know.
But what he found was confusion. Madox’s face was a frozen mask that couldn’t really express anything. Julian dropped his shoulders.
-Can you leave?” he gathered his feet to his chest as best he could.
The alpha thought he wasn’t breathing. The question still rumbled in his head. What did Julian mean to him? Well, a lot, more than he imagined. So why couldn’t he tell him?
The atmosphere in the room grew tense. They didn’t speak again until he slowly got up and walked to the door.
-I’ll be back, little bird, that’s for sure. I’m not leaving this town without you,” he said before disappearing from the house.
Julian just sat there and let out a quick breath. He hated it when the alpha was too stubborn and he knew himself. He would be lying if he said he had forgotten Madox. He still loved him and very much. Even if he had his faults. It wasn’t like they were going to go away like he had.
But…had he changed so much?
THE twinkle in his eye was different. That much he could tell. Still he wasn’t sure he would fall for her. He had already suffered for someone who had spoken nicely to him, and incidentally was his destined partner. Those dark moments in his life would mark him forever. And now he was not alone. He had his two daughters to take care of, so he couldn’t do something he might regret later.
Maybe Madox would get bored soon. He always did. Couples didn’t last him long. Yes, that was said.
So…
Why did she go to the ends of the earth to look for him?
I didn’t understand.
Madox kicked the tire of his car.
-Shit,” he cursed and fell back against the car, slicking his hair back, “This is what I get for being stupid,” he growled.
He was upset. Very upset with himself. He thought that winning Julian back was going to be easy, but no…he was having the next hardest time.
And he’d even kicked him out of his house. After he’d gone all the way there to look for him and he’d made a fool of him. He sighed in exhaustion. He wasn’t used to that. Normally with a few words he got what he had.
And what the hell had happened to his puppy?
He was always so submissive and cute. Taking care of the details. It was true that sometimes he could be reluctant about some things and that made it more interesting, but never like now.
God. He was going completely crazy. Even more so after that news. It wasn’t all darkness in all that.
-I’m going to be a father,” he covered his mouth trying to hide the huge smile that had just appeared, “I’m going to be a daddy…and of two. Two cute puppies- he never thought that the news that he was going to be a father in the future would make him so happy. And that the person carrying his puppies would be none other than Julian.
Could he be any more pleased.
Ah no. If Julian thought he would stay out of her life he was sorely mistaken. She knew he still reacted to him or she wouldn’t have smelled in his pheromones plus restlessness anxiety.
He pulled out his cell phone.
-Dominic got into the car.
-Wonderful ears that listen to you. Tell me you have good news. I’ve got someone here very impatient.
-Madox, talk the f**k out or don’t call back if you don’t have news,” Aidan’s voice was heard in the background.
-Honey, calm down, and be quiet, we’re still at work and you’re on my lap,” Dominic scolded him and Madox clicked his tongue.
-Stop f*****g bitching once and for all, I’m serious, shit,” he said, starting the car and putting his cell phone on loud.
-My friend, the trip has polluted that mouth more than expected.
-Shut the f**k up Dominic and listen to me. I need you to give me some advice.
-Advice? Wow, I have to record this, it will go down in history.
-God, give me patience,” he muttered, his head was in chaos to tolerate Dominic’s comments.
The other alpha laughed on the other side.
-Ya, easy now, tell me- -Two things.
-Two things. I need you to tell me how to conquer an omega- -A few seconds of silence.
A few seconds of silence.
-Madox, if I remember correctly, you are the specialist in this, not me.
I don’t mean that kind of one-night stand. I’m talking about doing it for real- -Wait, I’m supposed to travel.
-Wait, you were supposed to travel because you might find clues about Julian, you’re telling me that you fell in love with someone else?
Madox couldn’t help smiling.
-Don’t be a jerk. I found Julian, he’s pregnant with me and I’m going to win him back and marry him, so start talking once and for all.
He dropped the bombshell and was glad to be away from the phone, not only because of the amount of questions from Aidan but because of his scream of excitement.
In the night and in the room of the small and only motel in the area, Madox jotted down everything Dominic had told him he should do and it was indeed very different from what he normally did to have any couple eating out of his hand.
Buy her flowers that were simple but specially chosen. If possible make the bouquet himself.
Invite him to lunch in an intimate but cozy place.
Always visit him with some detail. Everyone liked details.
Don’t push. If he wanted to go slow, give him his space.
Among other things and most importantly.
Patience.
Well that was something she could have. And even more so when she had made up her mind to have Julian in her life.
At the end and before folding the paper she wrote the last but not least important thing. Maybe if he had said it at that moment he wouldn’t be there just because he already had the answer.
He was madly in love with Julian.
-Irina left the bag next to Julian, her nephew, “Even though you don’t go out to see him, he has been coming every day and besides bringing you flowers, he does the shopping as if there was no food in this house. What am I going to do with so many things. It looks like I’m going to cook for a regiment,” protested the older person walking towards the kitchen.
Julian smiled slightly and waited for her to disappear before opening the bag. The first two days he hadn’t touched or smelled the flowers his aunt had left on the table. In the end he couldn’t help but look inside one of the bags on the third day and he could swear his eyes had filled with tears.
She couldn’t believe that Madox remembered her favorite flavors, especially of ice cream. Details like these made the barrier he’d worked so hard to build slow down.
His aunt wouldn’t let him see him saying he was toxic to her nieces, instead he had spent the night crying after the alpha had left. He couldn’t help it, too many memories overwhelmed him. But now he watched him leave through the kitchen window and found on the alpha’s face a relaxed, sincere smile.
Would he be doing all that for real? Because knowing him, this was not his natural behavior.
Irina left work in the evening. She was exhausted but at least she didn’t have to worry about food anymore. One good thing about that insistent alpha bastard who kept pestering her nephew. Perhaps he had nothing else to do.
He did not know him. He only knew his name but nothing else since Julian had told him almost nothing about the time he had decided to live on his own.
He sighed and started towards the house when something made him stop. He had seen too much of that blond hair to recognize it from afar and no, he wasn’t alone.
He wondered how Julian would react when he found out that the alpha who was pretending to be him was lying on top of his car, with the only omega besides him in town lying on top of him, while he was murmuring something in his ear.
He was definitely not going to like it.
