I'm Not Yours, Alpha -
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 57
Aidan stared at his alpha and lowered his head, focusing on the plate of food in front of him.
-No,” he stated dryly, without any feeling in the way.
Dominic hadn’t expected this answer. Normally when someone asks you if you want to meet your family out of curiosity one answers yes. But of course, he was talking about Aidan.
-Any special reason,” he pressed just a little.
-He picked up the wine glass and took a small sip and then smiled at her, “I don’t have good memories of my mother. My father was never by my side, for whatever reason. I really don’t want to have anything to do with my past now that I look at it from another point of view. I decided to cut ties with him and with it all that it entailed.
-Even if your father was denied the ability to know you- I just wanted to be sure and after this I wouldn’t insist anymore.
The omega brushed his short hair behind one of his ears.
-He may have been denied the option of knowing me. Perhaps he doesn’t even know I was born. I’m not selfish enough to show up in front of him and say Hello I’m your son who didn’t know I existed. I don’t want to see the face or emotions of someone I don’t know dedicated to me. Besides, I’m more comfortable that way. If I’m going to have a family let it be with you. My children won’t have to worry about a mother who only thinks of her own well-being and not having a father by her side.
Dominic pursed his lips.
-Are you sure?” There was a tightness in his chest. She had been delighted to hear that he wanted to start a family with him, that he said, he was really happy, but what weighed on her was that he had knowledge of who his father was, Cristian Stoler. Even the person who had just left was his brother.
-You know them- his statement caught him off guard and he looked at him a little nervously.
-It was a coincidence. I found out for other reasons.
Aidan smiled again, a little less noticeably, playing with the leftover wine in his glass.
-Don’t think too much about it. If you know it, let it be so. I think that way now, maybe because the whole change in my life was so recent, but maybe later I’ll change my mind. I don’t know.
Dominic reached out and took his hand and squeezed it between his fingers.
-You will always have my support, my omega.
He lifted her hand and drew his, kissing her knuckles.
-I know…my alpha…
He smiled with pleasure. She had called him her alpha. He was happy with that. If he looked back, their relationship had started out chaotic, terrible, but it had all been worth it. Just having him with him was all she needed.
-Aidan- he put on a mischievous expression- You spoke of our children- she provoked him.
He broke away from her grip and dodged her gaze. He bit the rim of the cup. Yes, he had, but unconsciously.
-I don’t want to talk about it,” he said slightly embarrassed. It wasn’t a subject he was familiar with, let alone thought about.
-But I do. It won’t be now that we have a beautiful puppy, but in the future. I like children if you didn’t know. We could have 5. I have enough money to keep them. Or maybe a little more, make it six, three boys and three girls so they can play with each other.
Aidan almost dropped the cup. Dominic had to grab it to avoid the mess on the table. Aidan’s face was a poem. He couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
-I was joking, precious, you don’t have to be like that,” he said to lighten the mood. He knew that his omega was a serious person and did not know how to assimilate jokes easily.
-Three,” he said biting his lower l*p.
-Three?” the alpha didn’t understand.
-Let’s have three.
Dominic assimilated what he had said and then laughed uncontrollably. Could he be happier? He didn’t think so. It was already too much.
-Thank you, Aidan.” He wiped away a tear that was trickling down the corners of his eyes from laughing so hard.
He smiled.
-I think it’s worth saying that the feeling is mutual. Or it would be wrong for me to say otherwise.
-You don’t change, love.
Julian was sitting on the edge of the bed flipping channels on the huge plasma in the room. Madox was still lingering inside the bathroom after they had both returned from a walk around the hotel.
He had taken him, over the course of the stay, to so many places the hotel had that he was really exhausted even though it had been fun. He would like to do it again. Maybe because it had been with Madox. The alpha had been well attentive to him and looked after him.
He was an overbearing alpha. Typical of his type, haughty, rich, who had no filter to speak his mind. But… he was special. He could put everything aside for someone else’s happiness and worry about little details like him feeling good or being happy.
Or at least she wanted to think so. She hadn’t seen him talking to any of her flings and they’d been together all the time. All the time. Even the nights where she would first keep him up well into the wee hours having delicious s*x and then fall asleep, waking up, then, cuddled up to him.
He sighed. He knew better than to get his hopes up. This was just a bubble that would burst as soon as they left Hawaii and he would be back to the same thing. Falling in love with Madox was a mistake, but in feelings no one could rule.
He turned off the TV depressed by his own thoughts. He hated having those insecurities. If only he was really marked this wouldn’t happen. As much as he loved Madox himself, he hated it when it made him drift.
-Your scent became bitter- Madox came out of the bathroom drying his blond hair with the towel and another tied around his waist. His skin was still damp and drops of water were running down his marked chest and abdomen- What’s wrong?
She approached him and took his chin leaving a soft k**s on his lips.
-Nothing- he smiled slightly, but the smile didn’t extend to his eyes- I’m just a little tired- yes, tired of everything, of feeling like this.
Madox wasn’t so sure and leaving the towel around his neck she sat next to him wrapping her arm around his waist and pulling him to her.
-Why don’t you tell me what’s really wrong with you,” he kissed her temple a little uneasily. That the scent of an omega could become so rancid was not a good sign, especially not with him.
-Really, it’s nothing, Madox,” he exhaled, closing his eyes.
-Little bird, I get sick when you’re not happy,” she pressed her forehead to his temple, “So please tell me,” she kissed his cheek, “so I can do something to see you smile,” she said.
Julian pursed his lips.
What would he tell her? That he wanted her to stop being with every couple he dated? That he wanted him to be the only one for him? That he wanted to be the alpha that would mark him completely?
He swallowed dryly. Maybe he could say it, what would he lose? In the end they would go back to the same old routine and he would be just one more. Now he had the chance, one he might never have again. He opened his lips.
-Madox, I want you to…
At that moment the sound of his cell phone interrupted him. They both looked at the device murderously.
-Just a moment- Julian grabbed it after noticing it belonged to his boss- Give me a moment- he got up and walked out to the terrace. He had a bad feeling.
He opened the message box and opened the one she had sent him. It was strange. His boss was pretty particular about doing something like that, she preferred a voice message or just calling him, but this one was written and even had several pictures. Julian’s hands shook as he held the cell phone between his fingers.
Inside, Madox clicked his tongue and got up to finish dressing. He laid the two towels on one of the tables and looked for an outfit to wear. They were due soon to pack up to leave, so he opted for a short-sleeved, turtleneck pullover and a dark jean.
She still cursed that Julian hadn’t finished the sentence. She wondered what he would have asked her. Hopefully it was what she’d been waiting for. Before leaving on her trip she had done what she never imagined she would do. She blocked all her contacts with whom she had had a s****l relationship or future ones and cut the necessary ties.
She wanted with this trip to start a new stage of her life. She had been trying for quite some time to find an excuse that it was not with Julian that she felt better, but to whom she was lying. These few days at the hotel had been so comfortable and pleasant that it was a feeling she would like to repeat many times.
Dominic had nagged him several times that he should finish settling down and even have a steady partner. And he had made up his mind once and for all and with that omega. She knew from that day when she had seen him for the first time and ended up at his house that their destinies were not as far apart as she imagined. She just didn’t want to accept it.
Now it was there. If Julian didn’t ask her now, to be his mate, he would propose himself.
He waited for the omega to enter and smiled at him, combing his hair.
-Little bird, let’s talk.
Julian was extremely serious and with his head down. Madox approached him, but he backed away, putting distance between them.
-Julian?
-Madox,” his voice was low, “I want us to…stop seeing each other.
