Louise felt her heart clench, her face flushed with embarrassment. She had never felt so mortified in all her life. Fiona... She'd remember that name. "Nash, honestly, I think Louise has a point. We might not be much help if we go," one of the guys couldn't help but say.

"What's that supposed to mean? You scared?" Robert shot him a cold look.

"No, it's just that we're all students, and we probably won't do any good," the guy quickly defended himself. "We should find someone more capable."

He snuck a glance at Nash. "Nash, isn't your uncle really impressive? He's always been nice to us. He even picked up Flora from dinner yesterday. He'd probably be willing to help out."

If Jackson got involved, the school authorities would practically roll out the red carpet for him. A few words from him, and the whole mess would be sorted.

"So you're saying I'm not as good as my uncle?" Nash glared at him.

The guy instinctively nodded but then realized he'd just earned himself a death stare, so he sheepishly touched his nose and stayed quiet.

"Okay, fine, I admit I'm not as capable as him right now."

Nash sighed, feeling a bit deflated. He knew he could never match his uncle's track record. Still, getting his uncle involved was a solid idea. Plus, he was curious about his uncle's feelings towards Fiona.

With that thought, Nash set aside his reluctance, pulled out his phone, and instead of calling Jackson, decided to shoot him a text.

"Uncle, Fiona's in a bit of a pickle."

Jackson was in the middle of reviewing an important document, his pen moving briskly as he signed his name His phone buzzed, and he glanced at it, not bothering to respond until he caught Fiona's name. His brow furrowed slightly, and he picked up the phone.

Nash had sent another message, this one longer, giving a rundown of what had happened to Fiona at school. Jackson's expression tumed serious. He stood up, slung his suit jacket over his arm, and strode out.

"Mr. Woods, there's an important meeting soon. Where are you heading?" his secretary asked as she saw him leave.

"Where?" Jackson raised an eyebrow. "Oh, just a stray kitten I took in got bullied by some thoughtless folks. I'm worried she might be upset, so I'm going to check on her."

He said coolly, stepping into the elevator, "Postpone the meeting. I'll be back in an hour."

"Uh, Mr. Woods..."

The secretary watched as the elevator doors closed, swallowing her words. She started to question her own reality. A stray kitten got bullied? Since when did Mr. Woods care so much about stray kittens that he'd push back important meetings for them? Seriously, postponing the meeting would have the partners chewing her out!

Westbrook High School.

Mr. Garcia's office.

Fiona walked in with Keaton. Mr. Garcia and a few school officials were there.

"You again, young lady," Mr. Garcia said, shaking his head at Fiona with a hint of exasperation. Just a few days in, and she was already the talk of the school. One thing after another.
