Louise's face froze instantly. She never expected Ms. Ashley to be so openly dismissive, leaving her to glance at Nash for backup. "Nash..." she started, her voice trailing off.

Nash met her gaze, eyebrows knitted together. "Feeling all better now, huh? So what was with that Oscar-worthy performance of yours just a minute ago?"

Nash was nothing if not straightforward, cutting right to the chase. He wasn't oblivious and had picked up on her little act.

Feeling the heat of embarrassment, Louise dropped her head, choosing silence over further humiliation. Despite the awkward moment, Nash, considering the years of their friendship, decided to ease up a bit.

"Since Louise is feeling better, why don't we all head out for dinner?" he suggested, his voice carrying a slight chill.

Ms. Ashley couldn't help but roll her eyes at this. She knew her son had been manipulated by this girl, who had him wrapped around her little finger. But with Nash having already spoken, she had no choice but to take Louise along to the Golden Hotel. As they walked, Nash leaned in to whisper to Louise, "Stop playing games with me. I'm not a fan." He then strode ahead, leaving her to catch up.

Louise quickly followed, aware that Nash was upset, yet secretly pleased with her standing in his life. Even if he saw through her antics, he still chose to indulge her.

Eager to win over Ms. Ashley, Louise

Louise wasn't dense; she could read between the lines of Ms. Ashley's sarcastic jab. Her eyes darkened with determination, imagining the day she'd marry into the Woods family and prove herself.

When their car pulled up at the Golden Hotel, they coincidentally arrived at the same time as Fiona and her entourage. The two groups met in the entrance.

Louise, ever observant, quickly spotted Fiona, surrounded by admirers. Fiona seemed to carry a natural aura, her striking looks and undeniable confidence drawing people to her like moths to a flame.

With a spark of mischief, she called out, "Fiona?" loud enough for all to hear, drawing everyone's attention, including Fiona's, Ms. Ashley's, and the entire Group Nine.

"Nash, what are you doing here?" Robert from Group Nine questioned, surprise evident on their faces.

Nash skipping Fiona's event to be with Louise was one thing, but bringing her to dinner at the Golden Hotel was a different story altogether. What about Flora?

Their mood soured, but Fiona remained unfazed. Whether Nash showed up at her party or not made no difference to her.

Louise, with a smile plastered on her

face, chimed in, "We bumped into Ms. Ashley on the way and decided to come here for dinner." Her tone was sugary sweet, and she even tried to link arms with Ms. Ashley, painting a picture of herself as the future daughter-in-law of the Woods family, right there for everyone to see.
