Chapter 999 If I Wanted to Kill You, I Wouldn't Have Waited Until Now

Evelyn didn't know how many times she had woken up in a daze. Her whole body was tied up with thick ropes, her body was fixed to the car's back seat, and her mouth was sealed with black tape. Just as she felt she was about to die, the car stopped moving.

The car door was opened, and fresh air poured in. She desperately tried to take a breath but could only manage slow, stifled breaths. She felt extremely suffocated.

Before she could raise her head to look outside, a huge hood suddenly covered her head. Her vision instantly darkened, and she couldn't even see a trace of light.

"Umm!"

Ignoring her voice, the two men roughly dragged her out of the car, put their hands under her arms, and lifted her up with a little force.

There were occasional protruding stones tripping her up under her feet. She couldn't see the path, and her steps were almost floating. With every stumble, her heart would skip a beat.

After walking for an unknown time, Evelyn heard the sound of the door opening in front of her, and then she was pushed out. Her legs went soft, and she fell to her knees with a plop, and her knees were numb Evelyn couldn't see with her eyes, but her senses were unusually sharp. She could feel someone approaching her, even though their footsteps were light.

She held her breath. The next second, the mask on her head was removed, and the bright light shone on her face. She suppressed her discomfort and fear and opened her eyes. The man was squatting in front of her and looking at her with a smirk.

"Are you afraid?"

There was no concern in his words at all but more like a kind of stimulation.

Evelyn frowned and looked around vigilantly. Compared with the previous villa, the air here was more humid. It was either near the sea or deep in the mountains and forests.

The room had an overall wooden structure. Even the tables and chairs were made of wood. The roof had a triangular peak, and the lights were embedded in the wooden walls, giving it a distinctive character. This unfamiliar environment made Evelyn feel uneasy. "Why did you bring me here?"

Hawk raised an eyebrow and leaned in closer. Seeing her anxious avoidance, he reached out and grabbed her slender waist, his gaze falling on her wrists, which were red from the ropes. He retrieved a small, sharp knife from his back waist.

Evelyn turned pale with fright. "You, you..."

With an unchanged expression, Hawk extended the blade of the knife toward her wrist. The cold back of the knife touched her skin, causing Evelyn to close her eyes in fear. However, instead of the expected pain, she felt a sense of release on her wrist.

She watched as the man broke the rope on her body and did not dare to move.

"Do you think I would kill you?" Hawk put away the knife, stood up, and at the same time lifted her up in his arms. "If I wanted to kill you, I wouldn't have waited until now."

The wounds inflicted by him on Evelyn's body were still not fully healed, and coupled with her already feverish head, as she abruptly stood up, a wave of dizziness immediately overwhelmed her.

She shook her head in an attempt to overcome the discomfort, but it only made her feel even more unwell.

Evelyn felt like a string in her brain had snapped, causing her temples to throb. In addition to the pain, she felt an itching sensation on her body. Her clothes clung uncomfortably to her sweaty and damp skin, and the wound on her neck radiated discomfort down to her chest.

Hawk didn't notice her strangeness. When he let go of her, the woman next to him only held on for a few seconds before falling to the ground again.

Looking at the delicate body falling down, Hawk caught it quickly, and the person in his arms did not react.

Ten minutes later, the doctor entered the adjoining room with a medicine box. Evelyn lay on the relatively spacious bed, her face pale and beads of cold sweat forming on her forehead.

Hawk was sitting on the chair by the bed. His sharp eyes had been fixed on the doctor since he came in, which made him feel scared.
