Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce -
Chapter 995
Chapter 995 I Will Also Join the Operation Tomorrow
After three consecutive days, with the assistance of the foreign police, they finally pinpointed the location where Hawk had settled down. It was in a remote plantation area in the south of Yazton, with a sparse population. Although the surveillance and other devices were not as dense as in the city, the terrain was relatively simple, making it easier to locate their target.
After some discussion, Huston decided to follow the police into Yazton personally.
All personnel gathered for a meeting on the day before the operation. The operation was planned to be highly secretive and executed swiftly. Typically, an international missing persons case like this would take at least two weeks to organize, but since the incident occurred only four days ago, they aimed to catch the other party off guard.
"During the operation, you will lead the armed police forces to surround the villa from below. Hawk is very cunning, and the area surrounding the villa is filled with poppy fields without any other structures. There are likely to be numerous traps underground, so bring the riot dogs with you and be extremely cautious."
"Also, this villa has three floors. We are not sure which floor the hostage will be on. To not alert them, Milo, you must reach the villa's top floor first and then enter the second and third floors through the window. You must be extremely cautious throughout the process and ensure you are not detected."
The deployment arrangements proceeded systematically, with everyone being assigned tasks for the following day. Huston sat quietly on the side, listening attentively. As the meeting neared its end, he finally said, "I will also join the operation tomorrow."
"Well..."
"Mr. Lloyd..."
The leaders all tried to persuade him. After all, this was not a small matter. Huston raised his hand and interrupted them. "I know what I'm doing."
"We're not unwilling to let you go, but the mission is highly dangerous. Any slight mistake could lead to unexpected consequences. If something were to happen to you, it would be difficult for us to explain to our superiors."
"I understand your concerns," Huston had already anticipated these thoughts. "I have already submitted the request, and it has been approved. Rest assured. I won't be directly involved in the operation. I will simply accompany the team in the vehicle. If any unexpected issues arise, I will take full responsibility myself."
"But..."
"I have the ability to protect myself. There's no need to say more."
Seeing that he had decided, no one said anything more. After all, the higher-ups had approved it. No one could stop him if he were willing to go. He would only be accompanying the team in the vehicle, and it wouldn't impact the operation.
"Well, let's gather here at 3:30 a.m. No one is allowed to fall behind!"
...
Late at night, the police car drove to the cultivation area south of Yazton.
The vehicle with Huston was positioned towards the rear of the convoy to avoid drawing attention. To further maintain a low profile, they took different routes, and Huston's vehicle followed a relatively flat terrain.
Looking through the car window, they could see the dense forest shrouded in darkness. Apart from the main road illuminated by streetlights, the rest of the area was engulfed in pitch-black, desolate, and devoid of human presence. However, green trees still stood tall amidst this tropical climate, adding an exotic touch to the surroundings.
Huston's mood was almost suppressed to the limit, and every time he walked a certain distance, he would be reminded of Evelyn. He couldn't help but wonder if she had walked this same road when she was brought here and if she had seen this scenery. Being in a foreign land, without family but with enemies, he couldn't imagine the fear and unease she must have felt at that time.
Just thinking about it made Huston's heart ache terribly.
He didn't know if she had eaten or been bullied these days. He didn't ask for anything. He just hoped that when he arrived, she would be alive. Just being alive would be enough for him.
