Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce -
Chapter 993
Chapter 993 Don't Call Him
When Evelyn woke up again, it was already morning. She had been unconscious throughout the entire night. Opening her eyes, she saw a doctor standing by her side, wearing a white coat. The doctor was adding medication from a small bottle into her intravenous drip.
She was in pain all over her body, with the injury on her shoulder being the most severe, making it impossible for her to move her neck. She furrowed her brow slightly and moved her wrist. "What did you inject me with?" she asked.
Hearing the voice, the doctor looked at her with pity. "You don't have to worry. It's an anti-inflammatory drug, which is helpful for your wound."
Evelyn sized up the man in front of her. He looked kinder than anyone she had ever seen here, but she still didn't dare to take it lightly. Who knew what he was thinking?
"Since you're awake, I'll ask Hawk to come over." He turned around and was about to leave.
Evelyn was shocked. Ignoring the pain and the infusion, she grabbed the man's arm. "Don't go!"
Her voice was still hoarse from just waking up, and she instinctively resisted the mention of that name. "I still want to rest for a while. Don't call him."
The doctor quickly put her hand back by the bed and saw the fear in her eyes. Although he really wanted to agree to her request...
He sighed helplessly. "I'm sorry, but I have to obey orders. The consequences would be dire otherwise."
Evelyn slowly lowered her gaze, her long and curled eyelashes trembling uneasily. In her peripheral vision, she saw the doctor leave the room and close the door. She closed her eyes, and after a few minutes, the door opened again, accompanied by steady footsteps that sounded like a knock from hell.
The sound finally stopped at the head of the bed, and two burning gazes fell on Evelyn's face. She closed her eyes, not wanting to see the face that made her feel disgusted.
"Didn't you say that she woke up?"
"She just woke up but said she was tired and might have fallen asleep again."
It had only been three or five minutes since the doctor found him in the room. How could she fall asleep so soon after waking up?
Hawk looked at the obviously stiff body on the bed and waved to the doctor behind him. "You can go now."
"Got it."
When the door closed, there were only two people left in the bedroom.
Unable to see Hawk, Evelyn's senses became heightened. Especially when his rough fingertips brushed against her cheek, the events of the previous night played back in her mind like a movie. His hand was like the tail of a crocodile to her. It was cold, rough, and disgusting.
Hawk observed the slight furrow of her brow, and although it was just a subtle reaction, he keenly caught it. He lifted the corners of his lips, refraining from immediately exposing her disguise, and instead continued to play with her face.
Her skin was flawless, possessing a natural delicacy and smoothness that was irresistible, like a freshly peeled egg. If it weren't for her provoking him last night, he would never have been willing to be so heavy-handed with her.
Unfortunately, the left side of her face had already turned green and red, and his slap had broken the corners of her mouth.
Hawk's gaze fell upon her slightly dry lips, recalling her appearance beneath him last night. His thumb left an imprint as it pressed against her lips, and almost instantly, her lips instinctively tightened beneath his touch. He sneered lightly, observing her continued attempt to maintain her facade. In a cruel manner, he forcefully inserted his index and middle fingers into her mouth, gripping her tongue, which she couldn't evade in time...
Evelyn couldn't bear it any longer and opened her eyes, looking resentfully at the man with a smirk in his eyes. Hawk had long known that she hadn't slept, but he deliberately teased her like this without saying a word.
