Chapter 983 I'd Rather Jump

When Evelyn woke up, she was already in a large bedroom. She first saw the luxurious crystal chandelier above her head when she opened her eyes. There was no light in the room, only bright moonlight through the window.

She tried to move her body, but there was nothing unusual except for the pain in her neck caused by the hit.

Evelyn sat up carefully from the bed. Before she could react, she heard a clear male voice coming from the darkness. "You're awake."

Just as Evelyn was about to get out of bed, the voice reminded her of what had happened before she fainted.

In the private room, a man appeared seemingly out of nowhere, pressing a sharp knife against her, with a trace of fresh blood seeping out...

Evelyn turned her head abruptly and only then noticed a figure on the nearby sofa. She squinted her eyes to get a closer look and, indeed, confirmed that it was the foreign man she had encountered earlier.

Hawk stood up from the sofa as if waiting for a long time. He stretched his neck, turned around, walked to the wall behind him, and raised his hand to press the switch.

With a "bang," the room was instantly filled with bright light. Evelyn covered her eyes in discomfort but was afraid he would do something, so she quickly moved her hand away.

There was a sofa, a table, and a bed. The floor was covered with a high-end wool carpet. It was spacious and luxurious, giving off an indescribably strange feeling.

Seeing him approaching, Evelyn quickly got off the bed and stood up. She didn't even have time to put on her shoes and stood barefoot, retreating to the edge of the window sill. "Don't come any closer!" Hawk didn't care about her words. He walked straight to less than two meters in front of her before stopping and looking at her playfully. "What's wrong? Do you want to jump down?"

Evelyn stared at him with a pale face. "I'd rather jump down than stay in the same room with you!"

"Okay, you jump." Hawk smiled provocatively. He took a few more steps forward and was about to grab her.

Evelyn panicked. She gritted her teeth and turned around. Just as she was about to climb up the windowsill, she was stunned when she saw a large field of red, purple, and white flowers outside the window. "Why didn't you jump?" Hawk had already walked behind her and followed her line of sight. "I buried a lot of things underground. If you're lucky, you can bump into one. Even if you don't die, you can explode to death."

Evelyn was shocked by the scene in front of her. Even at night, she could still feel the terrifying aura of the flower field. These were no ordinary flowers; they were poppies!

Since she opened the flower shop, she had researched numerous flower varieties. She had come across information about poppies in passing, but she had only seen them in pictures. Now, right before her eyes, was a vast expanse of poppies swaying in the night breeze. Instead of finding their movements enchanting, she felt a sense of solemnity and a chilling presence.

Who was he exactly to possess such a forbidden poppy field?

Hawk watched as her body gradually stiffened, taking advantage of her distraction. Suddenly, he reached out and pulled her into his arms.

"Ah!" Evelyn felt the warmth from the man behind her and twisted her body uneasily. "Let me go!"

Hawk was 1.8 meters tall. He faced Evelyn, who was more than 20 centimeters shorter. Controlling her was as easy as controlling a small cat. "Don't move. If you dare to resist later, I will unleash my beastly nature, and you will suffer the consequences."

A hot breath sprayed against Evelyn's ear, and she felt as if she were entwined by venomous snakes, feeling cold, nauseated, and disgusted. "Oden, what exactly do you want?"

"I'm not Odette. This stupid name is not suitable for me." Hawk seemed to be very dissatisfied with her address. He tightened his arms and even made Evelyn's breathing stop. It hurts so much...
