Chapter 910 Endless Longing

Looking at her mother sitting by the bed and carefully covering Ben with a quilt, Evelyn felt very uncomfortable. She took a glass of hot water and handed it to her. "Mom, drink some water. I've talked to the doctor. Dad had a cerebral infarction, but we'll know the details after a check-up tomorrow morning. I'll ask a friend of the Lane's Hospital to pick Dad up tomorrow morning."

"What else did the doctor say? How's your father now? Will he be in danger?"

"Her life is not in danger for the time being, but he needs surgery, so I want to transfer him to Lane's Hospital." Evelyn's words were not as serious as the doctor said. She was afraid that Lucy would not be able to bear such a blow.

"The Lane's Hospital..." Lucy couldn't remember. "It's..."

"It's Huston's friend's hospital." Evelyn continued, "The facilities there are better than here. As long as Dad goes there, there won't be a problem."

"Well, it's better to have acquaintances over there."

Evelyn looked at Ben, who was lying on the hospital bed in a hospital gown. He was still unconscious, with a breathing machine in his nose and a clip on his hand. Even though he had not woken up yet, his body was tense.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at him. Her heart was filled with all sorts of emotions. Before her, she still looked like Ben when he was young. But time had passed and they had unknowingly aged. Evelyn sniffled and held back her tears. She didn't want to be too sad in front of Lucy at this time, so she took her phone and went out to call Kevin.

The phone rang twice before it was picked up. A familiar warm voice came from the other end of the line. "Evelyn?"

"It's me, Kevin."

Her voice was still trembling, which made Kevin nervous. He subconsciously thought that it had something to do with Huston. "What's wrong? Did something happen?"

"I'm fine. It's about my dad." Evelyn looked at the white wall in front of her and felt very depressed. "My dad had a sudden cerebral infarction this morning and was just rescued in the hospital. The doctor said that the blood vessels are blocked and need surgery."

"Don't worry. How is Mr. Shelton now?"

"He needs to lie in bed now. The doctor said that he can't move for the time being and that he can only have a check-up tomorrow."

"Then I'll send someone to pick him up tomorrow morning. There's a mobile bed. Mr. Shelton doesn't need to move through the emergency passage of the hospital. Don't worry, there's the best neurology doctor in the country in the Lane Group. He can examine on the same day." Kevin instructed her slowly, afraid that she would not be able to take the blow.

Evelyn was very grateful. "Thank you, Kevin. I'm really worried. I don't know what to do. Thank you..."

"There's no need to be so polite with me. Just keep Mr. Shelton company tonight and wait for me tomorrow."

"Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Evelyn felt a little relieved after hearing Kevin's words. She couldn't imagine what she and Lucy would do if something happened to Ben at this time. They might not be able to hold on mentally.

For the first time, Evelyn felt the burden of the family. She handed over the management of the shop to Lola. Fortunately, Bert took Lucas to Lownon. Otherwise, she wouldn't have the time to take care of him

now.

Kevin made use of his connections to arrange a single room for Ben. In the evening, Lucy had a bed companion to lie down in, while Evelyn went home to pack up some daily necessities.

If Ben was hospitalized to do the operation, those would be useful.

The night shone through the window into the worn-out security window net of the Hub Apartment. She seemed to be integrated with the endless night with a heavy bag in her hand.

She suddenly felt so tired. Her heart weighed a ton, and she couldn't breathe. She prayed every day that the day would pass quickly.

She felt a lump in her throat, but she suppressed it and suppressed the burning desire in her eyes. "Huston, when are you coming back?"
