Chapter 908 A Sudden Cerebral Infarction
After Lucas's summer vacation, Evelyn's shop also became busy due to the students' vacation. Although she had tried her best to spend time with the child, she still hadn't a lot of spare time to take care of him It just so happened that Bert was going back to Lownon, so he came back in three or four days. Lucas hadn't been back to Eoland for a long time and proposed to go with him. Evelyn thought about it and agreed.
Before leaving, she repeatedly told him that as a mother, she would always have endless worries. Previously, she always felt that Ben was nagging, but now she finally understood as a parent. After sending them off, Evelyn thought that she could have a moment of leisure, but the next morning, she received a call from Lucy, saying that Ben had a sudden cerebral infarction and was sent to the hospital.
Hearing this, Evelyn was so scared that she couldn't even hold the phone. Her face instantly turned pale. "Mom, don't panic. I'll go there now!"
Hearing the commotion, Lola asked with concern, "What's wrong, Evelyn?"
"There's something about my parents, so I have to go to the hospital. Take care of the shop, please. Call me if you need anything," she said hurriedly as she walked out with the car key.
She sped to the hospital. After parking the car, she ran into the elevator and found the emergency room. On the bench in the corridor outside the door, Lucy was sitting alone. Her body was bent and she looked so weak, full of loneliness and helplessness of the elderly.
Evelyn walked up to Lucy and hugged her. "Mom, how's Dad?"
"Not good. He's in the emergency room. He's unconscious on the way here..." Lucy was so worried that tears fell from her eyes as she spoke. She still had a lingering fear when she thought of what had just happened.
Originally, they were going to go out for a walk after breakfast. When they retired, they liked to go out for a stroll at home. However, as soon as they took off their shoes, Ben suddenly couldn't stand still. The next second, he leaned against the wall behind him and sat down on the ground. He didn't get up again.
Evelyn looked at the red light on the wall outside the emergency room, and her heart felt like it was being fried on a stove. She remembered that Ben had never been very strong, but he had been going to have a physical examination on time all these years. How could he suddenly have a stroke?
She could only wait for the doctor to come out to know these questions.
As time went by, the process of waiting was so long. Neither she nor Lucy spoke. Maybe they were too worried, or maybe they were not in the mood. At this moment, silence was the best choice.
After an unknown period, even the air around them began to become a little thin, and the door of the emergency room was finally opened from the inside again.
The leading doctor came out, followed by a group of medical staff who pushed Ben's bed out.
Evelyn jumped up from the chair like a spring, strode to the doctor, and asked nervously, "Doctor, how is my father?"
The male doctor took off his mask and glanced at her and Lucy. "Are you the patient's family?"
"Yes, I'm his daughter."
"The patient's condition is complicated, but it's confirmed to be a cerebral infarction. There are still a lot of examinations to be done later. You can go through the admission procedure first and let him be transferred from the emergency room to the ward." Seeing that Lucy's eyes were red from crying, the doctor turned his head and whispered to Evelyn, "Come with me."
"Okay." Evelyn handed her bag to Lucy. "Mom, you can go straight to the second window and be hospitalized. I have cash in my bag. You can use it directly. I'll go with the doctor."
"Okay, go ahead. Tell the doctor about your father's condition."
"Don't worry."
