Chapter 410 There's No Place for

You Here

The last trace of drowsiness in Huston's eyes vanished.

He looked at the woman with closed eyes, devoid of any

tenderness in his gaze, only filled with immense rejection and

resistance.

Suppressing the anger in his chest, he tried his best to calm

down and raised his voice to call Mia, "Mia."

Mia was still sleeping with her eyes closed as if she hadn't

heard anyone calling her.

However, her slightly trembling eyelashes betrayed her. Despite the small magnitude, Huston still caught it.

He took a deep breath, fearing that he would lose his temper.

"I know you're awake, Mia."

Now, he was already giving her a chance to explain. Even

though Mia was pretending to sleep, even if she couldn't see his expression, just listening to his deep tone was enough to

make her heart tremble with fear.

After weighing the pros and cons in her heart, she finally

opened her eyes slowly.

Under the dim wall lamp in the bedroom, Mia was lying, and Huston was sitting. No matter how big the distance was, the bed was limited. Mia looked up at the man next to her. She had never been so close to Huston, let alone sleeping on the same bed. Although it was only for a moment, she was so excited that her heart beat faster.

"Huston..." She deliberately called out to him, with a hint of coquetry in her voice, sounding somewhat ambiguous.

Huston decisively turned around and got out of bed. With a few vigorous steps, he walked to the door and turned on all the lights in the room.

In an instant, the bedroom was filled with bright light. Mia seemed to be blinded by the dazzling light. She raised her hand to block it. After adjusting for a while, she put it down.

She was wearing an extremely thin nightgown, a lace

camisole style as if it was hinting at her intentions.

Huston's face had completely darkened, and his sharp eyes seemed to shoot out a sharp ice knife. "Why are you here?"

Mia grabbed her pajamas with one hand to protect herself,

as if she was the one who was frightened by him. "I, I had a nightmare at night and was too scared. I didn't want to

disturb you, so I sneaked in..."

After that, her eyes turned red. "Huston, I dreamed about the

scene of my parents' car accident. It was so real and vivid as if it had reappeared in front of me. I was so scared. I dreamed of my father's eyes. I was really scared..."

Looking at Mia with misty eyes, Huston felt calmer than he had imagined. He was so calm that he could even pick out the problem in her words. "Mia, if you're afraid, you can call me instead of sneaking into my room. There's no place for you

here."

Huston struck a painful chord in Mia's heart with just a single

sentence. He always seemed to know exactly what mattered

to her. Mia understood that this man used this method to

sever her attachments and desires.

However, she could not take back her feelings for him. There

was no end to them.

Huston lowered his gaze and looked at Mia sitting in the middle of the bed, his tone heavy. "You always dream about

your parents these years. I know you carry wounds in your

heart, but everything is in the past. Don't dwell on it too

much..."

Huston had already noticed that something was wrong with Mia. She kept mentioning her deceased parents. Whenever

she uncovered this scar, he would be in so much pain that he couldn't face it. As their daughter, she didn't seem to care as much as he said.
