Chapter 1050 Hawk Crashed

For Hawk, this sentence was like the last straw that broke the camel's back. There was even a trace of panic in his eyes. He retorted loudly, "It's not me, it's that policeman. He is the culprit of all this! I never thought of killing her, never..."

"She is so good, but she met such a cruel scum like you. It's the most unfortunate thing in her life. Even now, you still haven't repented, so you don't deserve anyone's pity. You have to live in a dirty ditch, and those who are good to you will get retribution."

Huston's words reminded Hawk of the few nights when he had a heart-to-heart talk with Evelyn. Although it was just a few words, he had never experienced it in his life.

She was sincere, at least when it came to certain issues.

She asked him if he had ever thought of changing his way of life.

This was the first time in his life that someone had asked him this question.

He was forced to take this road, which was destined to be endless from the beginning to the end. Maybe because of this tacit understanding, no one cared about what kind of life he wanted to live. But now, he had personally killed this person.

Seeing that Hawk was about to lose his mind, the police officer dragged him out of the house. After leaving the house, they could still hear his howls of dissatisfaction.

Huston stood still with his eyes tightly closed as if he wanted to sever everything that had just happened into the darkness in front of him.

Looking at his broad back through the glass, Evelyn somehow felt sad. The white light above her head fell on his head and shoulders, and it was silent all around. His strong body was under too much pressure and worry that could not be easily discovered.

"How are you feeling? Are you feeling unwell?" Kevin's voice brought her back to reality.

Evelyn looked away and shook her head. "I'm fine. I'm just a little tired."

"We'll go back soon. It won't take too long." Kevin heaved a sigh of relief. The phrase 'Do you remember anything' hovered around his mouth three times, but ultimately, he couldn't ask.

At this critical moment, he couldn't bear to force her too much, but looking at her calm face, he couldn't help but feel disappointed for Huston.

Forget it. Being eager for quick success and instant benefits would backfire. Some things could not be rushed.

Evelyn was pushed back into the car by Kevin and the doctor. It was not appropriate for her to stay in such an environment for too long.

After exchanging a few words with Captain, Huston left as well.

On the way back to the hospital, Evelyn couldn't help stealing glances at him several times from the corner of her eyes. She stared at him so hard that Huston couldn't calm down. "What are you looking at?" Evelyn had almost pieced together the words of Hawk and roughly understood what had happened at that time. She could not help but sigh, "Did the man just now regret 'killing' me?"

Huston did not expect her to ask this question. He moved his body steadily and looked at her very seriously. "Do you know what the legal personnel's taboo is?"

Although Evelyn forgot him, she did not forget the law she had learned from her beloved. It was just that there were too many taboos, and she really could not think of which one was the most important. "We must never sympathize with criminals."

The man's thin lips parted slightly, but his words were spoken in a firm tone because of his determination.

Without waiting for Evelyn to speak, he added, "For Hawk, your death is not important. What he cares about is the feeling of being respected and tolerant."

Evelyn didn't seem to understand what he meant. Huston saw through the doubts in her eyes and interrupted her thoughts. "He has lost his humanity a long time ago. Don't count on normal people to figure out a twisted and sick heart. You will never understand."

The so-called demons were hatred, greed, wishful thinking, obsession, and resentment. Hawk had long fallen into the demons, unable to and unwilling to extricate himself from it.
