“You are?” Rudy looked at that person doubtfully. He combed through his memory but could not recognise the man in front of him.

“It’s me, Lil Six! You don’t recognize me anymore?” The man introduced himself. Rudy had no idea who Lil Six or Leslie or whatever name he had. From his name, he assumed that Lil Six had to be one of the less noticeable small fry gangsters that he used to hang out with.

“Rudy, when did you come back?” Lil Six asked him.

“I just came back today!”

“Oh, how come no one knew about your return? My bad. Since I’ve run into you, let me welcome you back,” Lil Six said as he reached out his hand and dragged Rudyover to his car beside him.

Even a small gangster like him owned a car. Rudy himself did not even have a home. The comparison was depressing.

However, having someone care about him was better than nothing. Rudy wanted to find someone to catch him up on what was going on anyway. So, he decided to follow Lil Six to a restaurant nearby.

Lil Six ordered a variety of dishes as well as a nice bottle of wine. Him and Rudy enjoyed their feast as they chatted away. According to Lil Six, some of the gangsters that Rudy used to know had gone overseas, some had retired in wealth, while some were in prison. In short, not many of them were around anymore.

After the discussion, Rudy realized that he could no longer rekindle his old profession. The gangsters around were all new now, and they definitely would not accept him as their leader. He started to become anxious.

How would he survive if no one would listen to him? Apart from fighting and taking advantage of others, he did not really know how to do anything else.
