Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) -
Chapter 1248
Rosalie was frightened, but she didn't turn around for fear of alerting him. Instead, she pushed the shopping cart toward the exit.
The man followed right behind her.
Rosalie moved toward the crowd.
There were more people in the supermarket, and Rosalie didn't dare to leave. She was worried that after exiting the supermarket, she might walk past secluded areas where that man might attempt to do something to her. She would rather be overthinking things than be filled with regret if something happened.
She had a baby to take care of. She wasn't alone.
Rosalie pushed the shopping cart around, stopping only at crowded places as she carefully observed her surroundings.
After around one and a half hours, sweat covered her forehead.
She had walked for such a long time, her legs felt sore. She seemed to have lost the man who might have given up and left.
Perhaps she was overthinking things.
After making payment, Rosalie walked out of the supermarket with bags of groceries in hand.
She parked her car outside the supermarket.
Rosalie tried to walk where the crowds were.
However, after walking a distance, she realized that there were fewer people around. She instinctively accelerated her pace to get to her car faster. Just then, a voice sounded behind her.
Rosalie jumped up in fright; the bags fell from her hands and everything in them crashed on the floor.
She hugged Steve and retreated hastily. Frightened by Rosalie's sudden movements, Steve trembled, opening his mouth to cry.
Rosalie wrapped her arms protectively around the baby's head. Yet, when she took a closer look at the man before her, she heaved a sigh of relief. "Yerry, it's you! You scared me."
She thought it was the man who was following her.
"Rose, what happened? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I wanted to surprise you," Yerick said. "What's the matter? You don't look very well."
Rosalie swallowed past her
constricted throat and explained, "I...I
keep feeling like someone's
following me. I'm not sure if I was
mistaken, so when you called me just now, I jumped up in fright."
"Is that so?" Yerick's face turned solemn as he looked left and right. "Who was following you? Who was it?"
"I can't see him now. I had that feeling when I was in the supermarket just now. Perhaps...perhaps I was just imagining things."
"Rose, it's good that you're alert.
Why don't I keep you company?" He bent forward and picked up everything from the ground, then put them back into the bags. "Rose, let me accompany you home. I'll beat up any bad guys we see along the way."
"Yerry, thank you. I really hope I was just imagining things."
She couldn't call the police right now, since she couldn't even see the man tailing her. It would be pointless calling the cops. If she really were imagining things, it would be embarrassing for her.
However, with Yerry around, she felt much more relaxed.
"Oh yes, Yerry. What were you doing here?"
"I came looking for you, Rose. But when I saw that you weren't at home, I walked around the shopping mall nearby and somehow came here. I didn't expect to see you at the supermarket." "You could have called me. What if I weren't around here too?"
"It's fine. Since you weren't at home, I figured you must be busy and would be back soon. If I called you, it might bother whatever you're doing."
Rosalie suddenly felt as though Yerick was a very obedient and sensible son to her.
"Yerry, it's fine. If you come to find me again next time, just call me or give me a heads up."
"Got it, Rose. Let's head back."
Yerick accompanied Rose back home. After they unpacked all the groceries, she offered, "Yerry, stay for lunch. What would you like to eat? I'll cook for you."
