CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1648
Ben held the wedding dress up in front of Jamie, measuring it against her. "It's a perfect fit. Keep it," he said, his tone carrying a subtle hint of amusement.
Hearing the teasing undertone, Jamie's cheeks flushed red. Ben was always so playful.
But she couldn't deny the sweetness that warmed her heart, a feeling she could never experience on her own.
Half a month flew by-neither too fast nor too slow. During this time, the Lucas Corporation essentially put all its work on hold. Nearly everyone in the company was involved in preparing for the grand wedding.
By now, everyone knew about Jamie's relationship with Ben.
"You've got to hand it to Miss Lewis," someone joked. "We've been working hard for years, but she came in and landed the toughest one of all."
"Well, she's got the skills for it."
"Exactly. Anyone else might not have survived Mr. Lucas's icy glares."
The group burst into laughter, the atmosphere lighthearted and full of good-natured teasing.
Of course, there were a few envious and jealous voices too, but Jamie paid them no mind. To her, those people didn't exist.
The wedding was set to take place at a luxury century hotel, and Ben had gone all out, reserving the entire venue. Just the decorations alone had taken three full days.
The best wedding planners were hired to design the space, and a fleet of wedding cars was arranged for the big day. Ben himself coordinated with Nash, and even Nina contributed a few cars from her collection. They would all follow the bridal car in a grand procession. Seeing everything come together left Jamie overwhelmed. Her heart felt full-so full it was hard to describe. A mix of sweetness and sourness washed over her, like soaking in honey while holding back tears.
Nina, who had come with Jamie to check out the venue, nudged her playfully with her elbow. "Well? Are you moved to tears yet? You know, I had a hand in all of this."
Jamie wiped the corners of her damp eyes and gave an embarrassed smile. "Thank you all for putting so much effort into this for me."
"Oh, come on. We're friends-that's what friends are for. If you really feel bad, just owe me one."
"Not a chance," Jamie replied with a laugh. "How about I make it up to you with an extra toast at your table during the reception?" They shared a knowing look and burst into laughter.

The night before the wedding, Mrs. Lucas invited them to the family estate. There, she brought out a box and handed it to Jamie.
"This is for you, Jamie," she said. "It's an heirloom bracelet that's been passed down through the family. It's not worth much."
Mrs. Lucas claimed it wasn't
valuable, but the bracelet she
revealed was exquisitely crafted, its polished surface catching the light with a warm, radiant glow. It was clearly no ordinary piece, especially as a treasured family heirloom.
With all these factors combined, Jamie hesitated. "Oh, no, Mrs. Lucas. I can't accept something this precious."
But Mrs. Lucas was insistent,
placing the bracelet firmly into Jamie's hands. "This is from the Lucas family to our daughter-in-law. If I say it's yours, then it's yours. Take it and keep it safe."
Afraid of dropping it, Jamie stood frozen, letting Mrs. Lucas slide it onto her wrist.
Mr. Lucas, who had been watching silently from the side, gave a small huff but didn't object.
After recovering from a serious illness, his relationship with Ben had improved significantly. He had also softened toward Jamie, no longer holding the same reservations he once did.
Mrs. Lucas smiled warmly as she admired the bracelet on Jamie's wrist. "Look how perfect it is on you. By the way, Ben, since the wedding is tomorrow, why don't you both stay here at the estate tonight?"
