Over at Nash's office, he had just finished his meeting and decided to call Nina. Judging by the time, she should have been home by now, so he dialed the house number. After a few rings, the call connected, and Orion's sweet little voice came through the line. "Hi, Daddy!"

"Hey, buddy. What are you doing answering the phone? Where's Mom?" Nash's tone softened as he spoke to his son.

"I don't know," Orion replied with a little sigh. "Mom left after she got off the phone with you and still hasn't come back. I was going to ask you why you kept her so long." Nash's brows furrowed instantly. Something didn't feel right. Nina had left the office a while ago, and even if she had run some errands, she should have been home by now.

"Orion, is everything at home okay? Any strange people showing up? Is everything normal?" Nash asked, his voice growing tense.

Orion yawned, then wandered into a room, turning on the phone to check the surveillance footage. The yard was empty except for two security guards on their patrols.

"Everything's normal here, Dad," he reported. "No one's come by, and everyone's fine. Gemma just woke up, and Mrs. Watson fed her. I played with her for a bit, and now she's asleep again."

After updating his dad, Orion

paused, realizing something was

questions like this unless g

wrong. His dad rarely asked

serious was happening. He

remembered the last time he had overheard the men in black threatening his family.

"Dad, you need to find Mom. I'm scared something's happened to her. She promised to bring back some fast food, and she never breaks a promise. She wouldn't stay out this long without a reason. She must be in trouble."

Nash's heart sank. "I hear you, buddy. I'm on my way to find her now. Don't worry. I'll make sure we're all safe. Mom and I will be back soon."

Hanging up, he tried calling Nina, but she was already at the police station, with her phone on silent as she spoke to the officers. He called several times, each going unanswered, which only heightened his worry.

Then he remembered the tracking device in her car. Quickly, he located her vehicle's position and sped off to the site.

Arriving at the scene, Nash saw three cars, with Nina's wedged in the middle, clearly forced to a stop. The area was deserted, but there were bloodstains on the ground, hinting at how badly someone must have been hurt. A terrifying thought crossed his mind. Could Nina be the one injured?

The idea sent a chill down his spine, and he broke into a cold sweat. He tried to reassure himself that Nina knew how to fight. She was skilled in martial arts and could definitely hold her own. But the odds were high since she had been alone against multiple attackers.

If only he had been there, she wouldn't have faced this alone. Now, his priority was to find her as fast as possible and get her to a hospital if she was hurt.
