CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1324
right?
"What could possibly be wrong with me? You all know that I'm not really sick. I'm just putting on a show for Quincy. If I didn't, he'd still be under that little witch's spell." Mrs. Perez waved off the matter as if it were nothing. Pretending to be sick wouldn't make her actually sick, Her main concern remained her son. "Tiffany, I'm counting on you to help Quincy move on. I can't let that woman keep dragging him down. I went through all the trouble of getting rid of the child so they could sever ties once and for all." Mabel's expression faltered for a moment. She glanced at the gifts sitting nearby and swallowed back her response.
"I understand, Mrs. Perez," Tiffany replied confidently. "A man can't resist a woman's care when he's at his weakest, especially when Lydia's already found someone else. If we keep working together, there's no way they'll ever get back together."
The saying goes, "It takes one to know one." Today, when Tiffany saw Eugene, she could tell right away he was sharp and not someone you could easily mess with.
Mrs. Perez nodded in satisfaction.
Outside the hospital room, Quincy held his mother's medical file, seeking out the doctor to understand her condition more fully.
"Your mother's situation is very serious," the doctor said with a heavy sigh as he looked over the chart.
He patted Quincy on the shoulder.
"You need to be good to her. Being a filial son is the most important thing. Don't upset her, or you might actually push her into the ICU, and you'll regret it. Her heart is weak. Do you understand how risky a heart stent surgery is?"
Quincy nodded, taking in the doctor's grave tone.
"The surgery is incredibly risky, and given your mother's condition, there's no guarantee she'd make it through safely. Honestly, while your parents are still here, you need to cherish them and take care of them." The doctor continued to drive the point home, subtly hinting at the importance of filial piety.
Unbeknownst to Quincy, this doctor had been an old college friend of Mrs. Perez. They had known each other for years, and Mrs. Perez had even lent him money when his investments soured and his wife threatened divorce. Now, Mrs. Perez had called in a favor, and he was more than willing to help.
"Thank you, doctor," Quincy replied, looking increasingly burdened.
He hadn't realized his mother's condition was this severe. He felt a surge of guilt. Although what she had done regarding Lydia was wrong, he couldn't dismiss her condition as mere theatrics. Right and wrong were one thing, but family was another. "There's no need to thank me. As a doctor, I have a responsibility to every patient. If you ever need anything, you know where to find me." The doctor patted his chest, emphasizing his commitment to his role.
Once Quincy was out of sight, the doctor pulled out his phone and texted Mrs. Perez: "Just talked to your son. He asked about your condition, and I gave him the full story. He's feeling plenty guilty now, so I'm sure he'll be hanging on your every word." Mrs. Perez's lips curled into a smile as she read the message. She knew all too well how to handle Quincy. After all, she had been through far more in life than he had.
