Rachel rejoined Odin as the others found their seats.

Over 20 ceremonial girls dressed in green dresses distributed number plates to the attendees.

After receiving his number plate, Odin handed it to Rache.

Sullivan, you gave me this plate so I can bid on items that catch my eye, right? And you’ll cover the cost and let me keep the item?” Rachel accepted it without hesitation.

Hearing this, Odin narrowed his eyes and inquired, “What’s the matter?

Did you spot something you like?”

Rachel glanced at the number plate and responded, “Not yet.

The images in the pamphlets don’t pique my interest.

Maybe the actual items will.”

Rachel raised her eyebrows and looked at Odin.

“If you’re truly interested, don’t worry.

I’ll purchase it for you,”

Odin reassured her with a smile.

“How generous of you.”

“Really?” Odin squinted.

Rachel stopped fiddling with the number plate and handed it back.

“Then please give it to someone else.”

Odin’s expression darkened, and his smile vanished.

He looked at her and questioned, “Why are you so decisive? Why are you so opposed to marrying me?”

“Do you love me?” Rather than answering, Rachel stared at him.

Following a brief pause, Odin scoffed and replied disdainfully, “Does it matter if I love you or not? Shelia, you don’t have to marry someone you’re in love with, do you?”

Rachel lowered her gaze to the number plate, not responding right away.

In truth, she agreed with Odin.

At least, she would think so in the past.

She used to believe love and marriage were unrelated.

She wasn’t sure when her thoughts changed.

She decided she shouldn’t marry solely for advantage.

She didn’t want her marriage to begin so impulsively.

Seeing her silence, Odin continued, “When Victor and Rachel married, she was deeply in love with him, yet their marriage fell apart.

It doesn’t matter whether I love you or not.

If you want me to say I love you, I can say it.”

Rachel observed him and noticed his resemblance to Victor.
