Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1630
Alberto’s voice wasn’t loud, but it carried enough for those nearby to hear his name.
A wave of astonishment rippled through the crowd.
Whispers about the Gibson family spread among the crowd.
Some gasped upon hearing the name, but the majority were simply taken aback.
“Odin Sullivan.” Odin extended his hand and studied Alberto once more.
Alberto shook hands with Odin.
“I’ve heard much about you.”
“I heard you returned to Apliaria yesterday.
I found it hard to believe, yet here you are today.” Odin pulled back his hand and fixed his gaze on Alberto.
Alberto’s lips curled slightly as he replied indifferently, “I came back to pay respects to my ancestors and will leave in a few days.”
“Why are you in such a hurry? I intended to visit you personally, but it seems you’re short on time.
Would you care to join me for a simple meal after the auction?” Odin withdrew his hand and flashed a cunning smile.
Initially, Odin had intended to arrange a meeting with Alberto.
Attending the auction to encounter Alberto was part of his plan, and he wouldn’t give up this chance.
Rachel, standing at a distance from the crowd, could sense Odin’s plan as she watched him greet Alberto.
Perhaps Odin had already plotted to corner Alberto into accepting his invitation before the watching eyes of the gathered audience.
Alberto’s presence signified the once-thriving Gibson family, which still held considerable status.
Every move he made reflected the
Gibson family’s disposition.
Odin represented the Sullivan family, currently the leading wealthy family in Apliaria.
Even against his will, Alberto would reluctantly accept the invitation out of consideration for the Gibson family.
Upon witnessing the situation, Rachel smirked and casually sipped her champagne.
She had to concede that Odin was cunning.
Yet, for some reason, she felt that Alberto would resist, even under the watchful gaze of the crowd.
With this thought, Rachel instinctively raised her eyes to look at
Alberto.
To her surprise, their eyes met.
A sudden, inexplicable familiarity welled up within Rachel, causing her heart to skip a beat.
Abruptly, she snapped out of it and averted her gaze in panic.
Yet, as she did so, she heard Alberto’s composed voice, steady and clear.
