“From now on, call me Odin.”

When Victor was still alive, the people addressed him as Mr.

Sullivan.

Now, whenever people called Odin that, he was reminded of Victor, and he didn’t like that.

“Odin.” She was in his car so she had to obey.

“I admit you are an attractive man, but I’m not one of those women.

What I want is someone I love and who also loves me, and you are not that person to me.”

Odin grimaced.

“Are you in love with someone?”

“No, not really.” Rachel paused for a moment as a handsome face flashed in her mind.

Odin studied Rachel’s expression.

She only looked at him with resolve.

Annoyed, he looked away and grunted, “Love? That’s merely a chemical reaction in the brain caused by raging hormones.

Once those wear out, love disappears.

Why not settle for something practical? Someone with money and can also treat you well, like what I did for you earlier.

You know this chance is hard to come by, Shelia, and you’re letting it slip away.”

“Thank you, sir, but my answer is still no,” Rachel said firmly.

It was the second time Odin received a rejection from her.

Odin’s gaze darkened.

This would be the last time Rachel would him down and bruise his ego because he would make sure she would accept his proposal on the third try.

With a foul mood, Odin tossed a leaflet on Rachel’s lap.

“That’s for the auction.”

Rachel picked it up, relieved that the topic was changed.

As she read the contents, she heard Odin say, “Alberto will be there.”

Rachel stopped flipping through the pages, suddenly recalling the day she stood in the rain, looking at the person inside the car through the window.

Alberto’s chiseled profile flickered in her mind once more.

Odin had been discreetly observing Rachel’s expressions from the corner of his eye.

Noticing that she was stunned at that moment, he sensed something wrong.

In a hushed tone, he cautiously inquired,

“Have you seen Alberto?”

“No, I haven’t.” Rachel’s thoughts were disrupted by Odin’s abrupt question.

She shut the brochure and remarked, “I’m just a bit surprised.

Who’s hosting this auction? They must be quite distinguished to have even invited Alberto.”

The fierce expression on Odin’s face faded.

His suspicions seemed to evaporate.

“The organizer is Edmond Stanley.”

“Edmond Stanley? Didn’t he retire to the countryside with his wife a few years ago?” After saying that, Rachel reopened the brochure.

Earlier, she hadn’t noticed the organizer’s name on the cover.
