Auctioned Mates Revenge -
Chapter 66
We left the bathroom after cleaning up and went looking for Felix. We found them in the dance hall again with a bunch of papers in his hand. The platforms had moved a bit. There was a large platform that was moving around above the dancefloor. It was big enough for a few people. On either side of the dance floor, there were enclosed boxes with poles in them and flashing lights. They looked a bit like glass and metal cages. Water seemed to be spraying inside them like a shower. "Why would anyone shower on a dance floor?"
Felix burst out laughing and Grace chuckled a little, "It's a water tower."
The only water tower I've ever heard of was the tower used to hold water for Fluorite's water system. I looked at her in confusion and she grinned, pulling me along.
"Come on." She pulled me to the door of the tower and opened it. The water stopped spraying. "People get in it and dance. It's supposed to be fun."
"Supposed to be?" Felix cried; his voice indignant. "It is the best fun. Think a strip club and a wet t-shirt contest."
Grace shook her head, "It's mostly fun for the viewer, but I know some people get really into being inside the tower."
He waved the pages, "Matt plans to make it a whole thing. It'll be pretty popular with bachelorette or bachelor parties."
He frowned down at the list, "The moving platform is definitely going to be a hit. A bit of a thrill, but it's going to need more safety for drunk idiots. The regular poles are already good fun on top of the illuminated platform. If the water towers move, that would be great."
He hummed and scribbled something, "Problem is, I'm not confident any of the staff know how to pole dance or give a good water tower show, so I'm calling in some help." "Help?"
He grinned, "Help."
Felix dropped us off at the hotel and stayed the night in the suite with us before we returned to Club Heaven for dance classes. Why he felt it was important that Emoni and I be there, I had no idea, but I wasn't against it. It was a chance to mingle with the people at Club Heaven, the new people who would be working there in various positions.
Felix took charge of getting people registered as employees and what they were willing to do. Owen volunteered to be a fully clothed waiter and Felix asked him if he'd like to work the day shift. "What does that mean?"
"A nightclub can make a lot of money at night, but in Midnight, that would be taking advantage of only the night scene. Club Heaven is in such a good place in the city, that's prime daylight real estate too." He waved the pages, "Matt has plans for the day to be a brunch, lunch, and dinner spot, so it'll need a day crew."
He murmured on about the need for a menu and cooks, but Owen jumped at the chance to work in a position as far away from the nightlife as possible.
"Done. You can be a host and a waiter. Anyone else?"
Several other people volunteered for the day shift. Some others were perfectly happy with the night shift if it meant they didn't have to take their clothes off. Luckily for them, Felix had positions off the dancefloor to be filled.
"That doesn't mean that you can't take the class," Felix grinned, "Who knows you might change your mind and want to have a little extra fun. Matt has a good overtime policy."
The instructor was a pretty woman dressed in athletic wear. She climbed up on a pole dancing platform that we could all see and went through a simple routine to get us comfortable with it. I felt weird, but seeing Grace on the pole next to me, flushed red made me feel a bit better.
I had never pole danced before, but at least I wasn't turning into a tomato. As I twirled around, barely lifting myself from the ground, I caught sight of Matt walking in. He looked a bit disgruntled as he approached Felix to speak.
Grace spun around as two of the women catcalled making her blush glow brighter.
"Please stop!"
"It's encouragement!"
They laughed. For a moment, I wondered if they were teasing her to be mean, but she laughed along with them. There was a joke between them that I wasn't privy to. It was nice to see them all laughing. It was nice to have a reason to laugh too. "Alright, who wants to try out the water tower first?" The instructor asked.
"Grace."
"Renda!" Grace cried, pointing at me. I flushed.
"But I-"
"Renda!" Owen called laughing, "Go on now. Chop, chop."
I wrinkled my nose, "I really don't think-"
"Don't be shy!" The instructor said. "You did just fine with the routine. You'll be able to hear the music better inside the tower."
I was a bit wary about it, but it was clear that if I didn't go, Grace was going to be the next choice and she looked outright mortified already.
Sometimes, sacrifices had to be made for the good of other pack members. Twirling around a bit in wet clothing wasn't the worst thing.
The instructor was kind enough to give me some clothes to change into: a tight pair of shorts, a sports bra, and a crop top.
"Looking good, hot stuff!" One of the women cheered. Another person catcalled. I felt my face burning as I marched up to the tower and stepped in. The instructor smiled.
"Don't be too nervous. Just enjoy yourself. Pretend like you're seducing the man of your dreams, hm?"
"I don't have one of those."
She looked at me and tilted her head, "The... woman of your dreams?"
"No, I meant I..." I huffed. "I don't really... A man wouldn't want me."
"I think you'd be surprised," she said and winked. "Hot stuff."
I rolled my eyes and stepped inside. The floor was a bit cold on my bare feet. I closed the door and looked through the glass at the people outside watching. Grace looked a little excited at the prospect of me putting on a show. The rest of them were catcalling and whistling. "Shake it, Renda!"
I hadn't even started moving yet as the music hadn't turned on. Then, I felt Matt's gaze on me as the sensual pop track started to play. The beat dropped and I felt myself moving through the motions. Part of me know that this was just another form of dance. I had always loved to dance, but it felt like more than that.
I was mid-spin when I realized what it was that I was feeling.
It was Alyssa taking over me. It had happened a few times before when we were one person, moving in the same body. She was adding something to the way my body moved as the water started to pour down. I rolled my hips sliding a hand down my waist as I hooked my leg around the pole and let my weight carry me around in a smooth circle.
I heard the instructor clapping as I moved into the second part, pressing my back to the pole and sliding down into a half split.
I felt different. My mind wasn't bringing up the disgusting feeling of being on display against my will or being trafficked. There was something about knowing that I was safe with Matt. Maybe it was the clear wall that separated me from them, but I didn't think it was any of that. Matt's gaze was on me. He didn't even seem to blink. His face was flushed a bit and his eyes flashed with desire, staring at me, and I liked it.
When the water stopped and I came out of the odd trance I'd slipped into, Matt was still staring at me.
The catcalls had grown louder and I opened the door, taking the towel from the instructor with a smile.
"I think you do have a fantasy man," she wiggled her eyebrows. "And you certainly seduced him, hm?"
My face burned as I walked down the few steps to join everyone else on the floor. I felt Matt watching me, but I didn't turn around to meet his gaze. I watched another one of the women get into the water tower and joined in the outrageous cheering. Grace was going to go when Matt and Felix came towards me.
"We need to talk," Matt said and he lifted his head, "Grace, could you come with us."
"Gladly!"
"Don't worry, it'll be here for you, missy," Owen said with a teasing grin. "You're not getting out of it!"
Grace stuck out her tongue and rushed over to us. I slipped into a pair of flip-flops. Felix grinned and joined the group as Matt led us away towards the office.
