Chloe's POV:

I ascended the stairs to our bedroom, taking one step at a time. My vision was blurry because of the tears in my eyes. Once the first tear dropped, I no longer had any control over it as the tears wouldn't stop.

I had to congratulate myself, I'd tried not to cry in front of Titus nor Marcus. They had no right to console me after they had both betrayed me so badly. I felt dirty, harassed even! Bloody Cara knew about my personal... er-about that! Before me and if I hadn't seen wrong, Marcus might have been the one who told her.

I finally reached the door and slammed it, pulling in the bolts once I got inside. I slumped down on the floor, my back against the door and my face buried in between my palms as I cried out my pain.

How was I supposed to go out there and look Titus in the face, after he'd seen me stark naked? How was I supposed to face Marcus when he hadn't trusted me enough to tell me this, and also after the compromising position I caught him in? My life was one big mess!

Just when I thought I was making progress, everything had been reduced to nothing! It's like I'm back to square one and I really do not know how to pick up the broken pieces.

"What do I do now?" I cried, my body shaking with every sob that left me. If Cara decided to tell the rest of the pack, then I was doomed! No one was going to believe me when I said; I had nothing to do with Titus! Why will the bloody fool even draw me? Naked for that matter?!

The most annoying part was; why would he let everyone see that, including Cara! He knew she was an arch enemy and he let her see that? It's officially: I'm finished!

I just sat there for a few minutes, thinking of what to do. Running away was no longer an option, I'd let that stupid, good-for-nothing mate of mine, imprint his mark on me... now, I'd also proclaimed myself Luna before the 'shewolves'. Lily and Mark's house was no longer an option and I didn't feel like breathing the same air as Marcus.

I had to act fast!

I got up, blowing my nose and wiping my tear-stained cheeks. It was not the time to cry and think about how differently life would have been, if my parents were still alive. They were dead and I was now Luna of a pack. These wolves looked up to me and I couldn't let them down because of my own fears.

I was still sitting by the door, when a knock came. I remained quiet, once I realized it was Marcus. He waited in silence too but as I didn't respond, he knocked again.

"Hey sweetie, can we talk?" his voice came through the door. After a moment, he spoke again. "Don't let Cara fool you, she's only trying to come in between us. Can you at least let me explain?"

Oh, to hell with you!

Not feeling like talking to him, I stayed still and quiet, until he got tired and left, or so I thought. An amazing thought had crossed my mind while I sat there thinking.

Without further ado, I gathered up my clothes and some personal belongings. I rushed into the bathroom, took a quick shower and once I was done, I got dressed in a simple, sleeveless mid thigh dress, battling to look a bit modest in it. I'd blame my wrong choice of wardrobe on Lily... she'd been the one who packed my things, and all I saw after unpacking were flimsy little dresses, which hid close to nothing!

I grabbed my bag, hurrying over to the door. I listened to see if I'll hear any sound from the other side, but it was super quiet. It seemed like the servants knew I was in a bad mood, or... it couldn't be a coincidence that someone had told them to avoid the top floor.

I pulled out the bolt, turned the door knob and it cracked open. Pulling it back slowly, I picked my bag and tiptoed out of the room. The corridor was clear with no one in sight, which seemed like a good thing for me. I thought about moving into one of the rooms upstairs, but then decided to go downstairs.

I quickly descended the stairs, taking two steps at a time. By the time I got to the bottom of the stairs, my dress had ridden up and my black g-strings were on display. "Damn Lilian," I muttered under my breath. She had a way of making an innocent lady, present herself as a prostitute!

Once the dress had returned to its original length, I flung my bag over my shoulder, heading towards the first room at the far left corner of the house. I stared at the door, focusing my hearing to see if anyone was in there, but no one. Sighing happily in relief, I grabbed the door handle and turned. Well..., the door didn't make any move to crack open. I cursed, once I realized what was happening. Marcus might have suspected that I'd move into one of the rooms, so he had locked them.

Or was I jumping into conclusions too fast?

I moved onto the next door...

Locked!

And another?

Locked!

Five doors later and a very angry me, I growled, glaring at his bedroom door. I still found it hard to believe he'd done that to me.

I grabbed my bag from the floor and stomped back up the stairs. "Fucking!"

Kick.

"Stupid!"

Kick.

"Son. Of. A. Manwhore!"

I delivered the last kick to his bedroom door. Heaving heavily, planting my hands on my waist as I continued staring at it with distaste. I wished it was the bastard of a man that I got to land those blows on, but for now... the door would do.

I raised my leg to ram another kick into the door, when something caught my attention. I looked at the door beside me and noticed that the sound was coming from the cracked door. A smile started to spread over my lips, as I went to push the door and it opened wider, letting me get the view of the inside.

It couldn't be a coincidence, that the one door next to Marcus's had been forgotten while someone was locking the rest?

In order to confirm my suspicion, I tried four more doors on the top floor and all were locked. "Bloody motherfucker," I cursed. My heart started to warm up, as I began to get a clearer picture of what was going on.

He wanted to give me some space to calm down, but he also wanted to keep me close to him. It broke my heart that he proved to love me so much, but still did the things that hurt me the most!

I grabbed my bag and got inside, slamming the door behind me. "Oh. My. Goodness," I muttered, sucking in a breath. The room was sparkling clean! The windows had been thrown open, letting the cold breeze escape into the room.

The bed had been made with fine linens and in the middle of it, sat a big box of chocolates and a piece of paper resting on top of it. Dumping the bag on the floor, I walked towards the bed and picked up the piece of paper. It was addressed to a 'Luna Chloe...', which unfortunately happened to be me. I sighed, flipping it open and started reading.

"My love...

It truly saddens my heart, that you had to walk into such a heartbreaking situation and hear such horrible information. Apologies for not telling you about Titus's stupidity earlier, but I assure you that I made him pay, giving him the adequate punishments he deserved.

Suffice to say, what you saw wasn't what it looked like at all. Cara's intention was to rile you up and you my dear, are succumbing to her plans! If only you'd let me explain, you'd understand that I'd never hurt you. Hope to talk to you soon, my angel, take all the time you need, I'll be back home before you know it.

Love,

Marcus.

I tried not to smile, I really really did. I brought the paper to my lips without even realizing that I had done that. Not like I was thinking about forgiving him at all, but don't you agree he's kind of sweet? Don't you?

My eyes flickered over to the box of chocolate and I grabbed it, swiftly ripping off the wrap. I grabbed a tiny bar and threw it in my mouth. Sweet goodness! My eyes fluttered shut and I hummed, absorbing the deliciousness of the chocolate. Once the first bar melted in my mouth, I took another, flinging it up into the air and catching it with my mouth. I munched, humming as I plopped down on the bed. From then on, I dug greedily into my chocolate, munching on it like I haven't had any food for ages.

After having ten bars, I began to consider talking to Marcus. It's not like he was the one who drew a naked picture of me, right? And I didn't, per say, catch him in the act with Cara...

Oh, well... fuck it! I wouldn't let him buy me so easily, because he offered me a box of chocolate. If he wanted my forgiveness, he had to earn it properly! I was getting fed up with all the secrets and all, he had to fully let me in, or get out of my life completely!

I picked up another bar from the box, taking it to my lips when a sudden sound behind me stopped my movement. Clutching the bar in my hand, I whipped around to see just the open windows and nothing else.

I glanced around the room, seeing that everything was in place. Slowly moving towards the window, I craned my head forward, leaving the rest of my body behind as I tried to have a peek of whatever was out there.

I peered out the window, my eyes lowered to the floor of the backyard, as I searched to see if I'd find anything suspicious... but nothing! I grabbed onto the window sill, moving closer to have a better view. I had just started to bend over, when the sound of glass shattering; made me spin around.

Just by the table where the beautiful blue vase had sat, it laid on the floor shattered to pieces. I shuddered, my heart thundering in my chest, as I tried to make sense of the situation.

Now I was sure of it, there was someone in here. But how could that be possible? Why couldn't I see them?

Could it be a ghost of some sort, or some evil witch who was stalking me? My mind flew back to earlier in the forest, and I stilled, my heartbeat picking up volume. I tried to set my shivering body into a defensive stance, just in case the 'unknown' attacked.

Could it be the same creature from the forest that had followed me home?

Blinded by my own jealousy and rage, I'd forgotten to inform Marcus about what I saw. It hadn't been more than a day, I assumed my position as Luna, and I was already letting my people down... putting my own selfish interests before theirs. "What do you want," I asked in a shaky voice, really wanting to know, but not looking forward to 'it' actually replying to me.

Silence... that was all I got. I took a step closer to the window, preparing myself to jump out; should in case I'd have a need to. "Show yourself," I squeaked out.

That was when I heard large footsteps, but still didn't see anyone. They sounded like whoever had them was drawing closer. Fuck my life! I thought, quickly placing one leg on the window sill. I lifted the other leg, getting ready to jump out the window (on the top floor of Marcus's mansion), when something, or more like: someone, pulled me back.

My eyes widened in shock, at the unexpected occurrence. Slowly, I turned my head, but saw nothing but empty space. If there was no one behind me, why did it suddenly seem like someone was grabbing me by the waist?

With my whole body shaking like a leaf, I reluctantly lowered my eyes. And just as I'd felt, large muscular arms were firmly secured around my waist. I whipped my head around, still nobody and when I looked down, the hands were still there. Without waiting for an invitation, I screamed at the top of my voice, as I struggled out of 'the hand's' grip and ran out of the room.
