Chloe's POV

"Where do I even start?" She asked no one in particular as Jason rubbed soothing circles on her back. She was doing too much and it annoyed me.

Many things annoyed me about her, most especially because she was more of a perfect woman than I'd ever be.

Her beauty and composure were her assets and something I envied greatly.

"Marcus and I met in college..."

Now the story begins. My demon whistled inside of me and I yelled at her and she backed off raising her hands up in mock surrender.

"It was all sunshine and rainbows, we were so much in love and everyone knew about us. He introduced me to his parents immediately after we graduated college..." Wait... He introduced her to his parents?

How serious were they?

I was suddenly filled with an intense jealousy which I couldn't explain as my insides rumpled. I felt like wrigging her neck in half but I was too curious to interrupt her halfway so I let her continue while Marcus continued tapping his feet impatiently on the ground and it annoyed me greatly.

"Marcus didn't find his mate, but with me, he easily filled the void because he was so much in love with me..."

"Can she get to the point already and stop sounding like a broken record?" Lily asked angrily in my head and I smiled.

I couldn't agree less as I smiled gratefully that she was with me at this time and giving me the support I needed to calm down my seat but nothing prepared me for Lizzie's next words.

"Marcus made his Luna before the pack and shortly after, I found out I was pregnant."

Immediately I heard those words, everything I could see in my vision was darkness. My heart dropped to my stomach with a heavy thump and I gasped for air.

"Did you intentionally miss the most important detail on purpose? What's your plan Lizzie?" I heard Marcus ask angrily as I slowly turned to face him, too weak to talk.

"Don't you dare interrupt my woman." Jason roared angrily as Marcus snorted.

"Tell your woman to get her facts right and stop complicating issues." He said growling, his veins popping from his neck as he turned to Lizzie.

"Before I made you my temporary Luna, there was an agreement between us but here you're breaching that agreement. You agreed to step down the moment I found my real mate, so what's the fuss about? Why are you suddenly in my face trying to ruin my happiness?"

"Agreement? Did you just say agreement Marcus?" She asked with an angry scowl and then she chuckled as rose abruptly as if bitten by a poisonous insect.

"We had an agreement yet you gave me a poisonous portion to terminate multiple pregnancies and when the last one didn't work as expected, you made the old midwife rip the child out of me dead." She yelled and Marcus stilled, his eyes tightly shut as he bit his lips hard.

He didn't deny it, that means she was telling the truth.

Marcus killed a child?

I crawled at the wall beside me, gasping as I fought for air, I felt like I'm suffocating.

What kind of man did I marry?

Why didn't I see this part of him before agreeing to be his Luna?

"Well, I did that before you broke the agreement, we agreed never to have kids. You specifically told me you were on the pills and had the implant, so I was free to do whatever."

"That was all you! Everyone knows the pride of a she-wolf is in her pup. You didn't expect me to stay more and more years and remain childless! Moreover you didn't give me a specific reason why you didn't want children."

"That is not your fucking business Lizzie! You're going out of line here and everyone can see how dumb you are. We agreed to have fun while you waited for your real mate, you became obsessed and lost focus, everything happened over three hundred years ago! Why are you coming now?"

"There are some wounds that just don't heal Marcus, you're not a woman, you've never carried a child, so you do not know how it feels to have your child ripped out of you by the same man you thought loved you." She yelled as tears and snort streamed down her eyes and nose.

"Stop guilt tripping me, stop making me look like a bad person here when you have faults. The child that was ripped off you was bad luck. It was prophesied so I had to do it to save my pack. We made up and you told me you wanted to leave, and I begged you but you refused."

"Forgive me? You're so archaic and stupid Marcus! You didn't even give the prophet a chance to confirm the prophecy before you killed my pup. You're evil Marcus, you're only saying all of these to justify your wickedness. You only care about yourself! In case you didn't know, I left because I was pregnant when I didn't want you to kill my pups again!" She started heaving, her breasts bouncing on her chest.

Everywhere suddenly became calm, only the thumping of our hearts could be heard along with Jason's low growl. His lips were pressed in a thin line as he wore a confused expression.

"Don't tell me you've a child for this bastard!" Jason said and I gripped my chair hard for the fear of stumbling as my breath constricted against my chest.

"I never intended for you to find out like this, I would have told you... I would have told you Jason but I wanted to do it at the right time, never in my entire life did I think I'd cross paths with him. I avoided him at all costs but fate is a bitch." She answered sobbing.

"You haven't answered the damn question Elizabeth." Jason yelled and she shivered.

"Yes, I've a daughter"
