Alpha's Little Vampire Mate -
CHAPTER 120
Chloe's POV:
Two months and a half later: "Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you!"
My eyes slowly fluttered open, to see my husband standing before me with a large chocolate cake in his hand. I stirred tiredly, being five months and heavily pregnant, was not the best time in a hybrid's life as the baby took it's time to drain almost all of the energy from me. I raised myself off the bed, sitting up as Marcus sank down on the bed beside my feet, pushing the delicious looking cake towards me.
"Thank you baby," I said, taking his face in my hands and giving him a big kiss on the lips. He knew just how to make me an emotional mess with all the pampering and how patient he had been with me through it all. My feelings finally dropped, as I realized that it was also the very day I lost my parents too. While my father never returned, my mother also had to leave and now, I could also say she died that day.
"Hey sweetheart..."
My eyes raised up to meet Marcus's blue orbs which where searching like he was trying to see right through me. His hands gently held my face, and I lifted a hand to circle around one of his. "What is wrong baby?" He asked really looking concerned. "Do you not like the cake?"
I broke into a laughter, not being able to stifle it even when I tried to. He had been that way ever since he found f out that I was pregnant, wanting to bend to my every wish and trying to please me in every way he could. "That is not the case," I giggled some more. "I was only think about my parents."
"Well." He looked sheepish, what with his face heating up along side his ears. He sighed, giving me one of those smiles he did, that tumbled my insides and left me a mess that always craved for him. "I forgot about that because today is a happy day, and I know that your mother would want you to be happy. However, I never met your father, but I am sure that wherever he is right now, he would want you to be happy..."
My lips trembled slightly, as I marveled at how lucky I was, to be gifted with such a man in my life. I could have saved a war in my previous life, don't you agree?
"Chloe?"
I blinked back the clouds that had suddenly appeared in my eyes, to stare to at my husband's pale face. Why did he suddenly look like someone had punched him in the guts?
"Did I hurt you?" He asked, a mask of deep concern spreading across his features. When I sniffed, shaking my head in refusal, he then asked again. "Then, why are you crying?"
"I don't know," I said in between sniffs. I used the back of my hand to wipe my cheeks. I did not even know that I was crying until he had said it. "Maybe I'm just so happy that I found myself the best husband in all of the pack lands?" He heaved a deep sigh of relief, a chuckle rumbling out of his chest as he pushed the cake to the side and took me in his arms. "I cannot wait for this little guy to pop out of you, he has been invading for too long!"
He caressed the bump that had formed on my stomach and just then, he received a kick and we both jumped. We shared a familiar look and laughed, as I leaned against him, letting him support my weight. We sat like that for a while, me in between his legs wit my back to his broad, muscular chest and his arms around me.
"Let us eat that cake already," I said impatiently, when I couldn't longer hold my appetite for the delicious smell that wafted into my nostrils. At least I eat some food now and not just blood, my mother had helped because she claimed that when she was with me, she also faced a similar problem. The difference was that; she could not stand the smell of blood. She hated blood and that was how she knew that I was more of a werewolf than a vampire baby.
"But not before you cut it and tell me how old you are," he said with a smile. He stood up from behind me, helped me to stand and then brought out a little knife from where I do not know. He handed it over toe, picking the cake up. "You cut after the spelling of love, are you ready?"
I nodded excitingly like a little child, refusing to remember when I had done this with my parents just before their lives were brutally snatched out of them. After he spelt 'love', I brought the knife down on the cake and clapped excitedly, which made him laugh. Then I realized one thing...
