Alpha's Little Vampire Mate -
CHAPTER 118
Chloe's POV:
I kicked the bitch the hard one in the neck, inwardly smiling to myself, when she made a choking sound. I was going to deliver another blow, but then; Marcus dashed into the room and my eyes widened in surprise. We made eye contact for a brief second and he pulled out a little knife from his waistband, startling me as he started to charge.
The next thing I saw was, a knife through Therese's body. My heart was beating harder and quicker with every passing moment- the smell of blood intoxicating my senses as I began to feel dizzy. At least, now I knew the reason for why I have been craving blood lately, it should be my baby, our baby...
I heard the sound of blade cutting through flesh and that sort of shook me back to reality. I watched as Therese's head fell off her head and rolled to the floor, her headless body ooze out blood that splashed all over me. Right, it was a blood bath day for me, for real!
"Burn her..."
I gasped in shock, when I saw my mother staring up at us from where she laid against the wall. Her green eyes looked dull and though I knew that she was no longer as strong as before, but I had no idea that it would affect her that bad. "Mum," it came out as a choked sob, and I went to kneel beside her, wrapping my arms around her.
"Burn her," she said louder this time.
And we both watched as my husband nod, then asked if I was alright, before dragging the body away with one hand, and the head with the other. The problem was; after Therese died, the whole hospital sprung back to life. Without thinking, I made him invisible, and it also took away the blood trail.
"Good girl," my mother chuckled beside me, giving me a pat on the stomach. "It is funny how much you have matured since the last time I saw you, it is funny how I did not even want you to know that you were pregnant, because I felt that you would not be able to take care of this baby like the way you should." She carried on, rubbing lightly on my my stomach. "I am so proud of you and your brothers.... can you fetch them for me?"
Realization hit me and I noticed that in all of this time, not once had I seen my brothers. "I have not seen them since the day you came back," I said sincerely, watching her stoic face to see if she would give anything away. "It is unlike them, Angelo especially; to not make an appearance in a time like this. I wonder where they could have gone..."
"I sent them," she said with a sigh.
I waited to see if she was going to elaborate, but she said nothing else and I did feel the need to ask. "Where? Where did you send them?"
She gave me a considering look, then averted her eyes. "To get help. Let your brothers take it from here Chloe," she said in a pleading tone of voice, her eyes rolling back to meet with mine. She raised a hand and gently caressed my cheek. "All you have to do now, is look after yourself, your husband and your subjects. Do not let your grandfather be a problem, I promise to take care of him myself!"
"But-" I started to say.
"Ah ah," she interjected, wagging a finger in my face. "No buts. Just go with your husband when he comes to take you. Dracula would not be bothering you for a long time, I assure you that..."
It felt unbelievable, even for me. How could I go from the most sort after, to the Dracula not not coming after me? Did she know something that I did not? I gave her a skeptical look and she rolled her eyes.
"You still do that thing like your father,"she said, a little smile playing on her lips and a far away look in her eyes. "I miss him so much you know, he never left my dreams for once and I cannot wait to return back to him." She looked back at me, a proud look on her face. "I'll give you this address, go get your brothers and come meet me at our old house... bring your husband too and maybe, your best friend if you like...
Narrator's POV
Dracula's cave, south side:
Twenty two hours ago: "Welcome!" The Dracula's voice boomed, as he stared down at the two vampires that knelt before him with their heads bowed. "It leaves me in wonder, to see the bloodline of Monte in my cave," he said, looking from one vampire to the other.
He was the most powerful coven master ever known, more powerful that the Dracula of the north and they have been known as rivals since forever. But he had been in love with a young demon, who had chose Monte over him and when she had Claire, he always had loved her like his own daughter, not minding the fact that he downright hated her father!
"Great Dracula of the south," Angelo was the first to speak. "We come in peace."
"Whatever could it be, that you have come for?" He asked, relaxing back into his throne.
