CHAPTER 29 RUNNING

"This is going to take a while" he smirks

"W-what is?" For that the whip comes down on my back and I scream in pain.

"Don't question me Lily, I've told you before!" He shouts, the crackling sound of the whip echoes through the cell as he brings it down on my back. "P-please stop. W-what did I do?" I cry trying to grip onto something.

"Everything!" His voice cracks "your luna is dead, your parents are dead and your brother is dead. All because of you!" Alpha Jones roars.

"I-I didn't kill them, I would never do that. I-I promise!" I cry, I feel a sting on my fresh marks and whimper.

"Stop lying, I don't trust you; why would I trust you?"

The whip comes down again and again and again, it's a never ending cycle of torture.

But then I hear something, God? No.

It's pitter pattering on the metal roof, rain.

I've heard that when it rains it means that someone's died or is going to die and will be in peace, maybe I'm going to die.

I gasp for air turning on the lamp, I look beside me where Luca is peacefully sleeping.

I can't do this anymore, I stand up and walk to the door. I walk downstairs and grab one pair of keys from the bench, I unlock the front door and close it behind me.

I press the button and one of the cars lights flashes, I open the door sitting in the drivers seat and start it.

I don't know how to drive a car but I will try, I look at the petals and test them out then look at the leaver.

It's automatic, I switch it to r hoping that it means reverse and accelerate out, I switch it then keep my foot on the petal sighing in relief when I move forward.

I drive out onto the road until I'm out of pack territory and my breathing becomes short and quick, trust. Trust. Trust.

Whip. Whip. Whip. Beaten. Beaten. Abused. Abused. I Lily Tate admit that I want to die.

I scream tears falling from my eyes I want to die, I want to die. Kill me. Kill me. Kill me.

"KILL ME!" I scream.

Hasn't the moon goddess given me enough pain? "Was him torturing me, raping me, verbally abusing me not enough for you moon goddess? Why? Why? Why?" I whisper stopping the car. I bang my head on the steering wheel "why?" I cry.

I'm not as brave as I thought I was, in the end it comes down to alpha Jones. He owns me, I'm now vulnerable to him.

I'm alone in a car with no one to protect me, maybe I should beg him to kill me.

No. Lily Tate does not beg to a monster.

She fights, I wipe my eyes and hear a voice in my head.

Not Celeste's though. Luca. It's Luca!

'Where the hell are you Lily?' He growls, I swallow the lump in my throat 'please answer me, please' he pleads.

"I can't" I whisper to myself.

'Answer him!' Celeste shouts.

'He will be mad if I answer him' I reply.

'No he won't.'

I sigh 'Lily, please' he whispers.

'I'm sorry' I say.

'LILY?! Where are you?' He worriedly says.

I look around, where am I?

'I-I don't know but I have your black bmw' he sighs.

'I saw.'

I sheepishly look around 'don't you have a tracker on the car?' There's silence.

'YOURE A GENIUS!' I smile 'stay where you are, I'm coming.'

Minutes later a car comes speeding through, it swerves and comes to a stop.

Luca gets out of the car and I smile unbuckling myself, I get out and run to him.

He opens his arms wide and I jump into them, wrapping my legs around his waist.

I hug him tightly and cry on his shoulder "I'm sorry."

"Don't you ever do that again, okay?" His voice actually cracks.

I pull back and he wipes my eyes, he captures my lips in a fiery dance.

We pull back and he tucks a red curl behind my ear "I thought you left me."

I smile and shake my head "I would never leave you no matter how much you frustrate me" I whisper touching his hair. "Do you promise?" He whispers and I nod.

"I promise."

He smiles and kisses my cheek, I slide my legs down until im standing again "do you trust me Luca?"

"I have to admit that I've never trust anyone Lily, nobody" I swallow and nod.

"But you didn't answer my question" I say.

He smiles "I don't trust you 100 percent but I can learn too" he says and I smile.

"Really?"

"Really, really" I wrap my arms around his neck and hug him, I feel his arms slowly creeping their way around my waist and I close my eyes inhaling his masculine scent. "Ouch!" I hear, I pull back and look around.

Luca growls angrily "I told you to stay in the car Jake!" He laughs sheepishly.

"I just couldn't help myself, my babies are growing up!" He fakes crying.

I grin shaking my head in amusement "you're such an idiot, I feel sorry for your future mate."

"Hey! She will love me" he says cockily.

"Not if you ruin moments Jake" I say waving my hand in the air.

"That was an accident, I took some pictures though?" He grins.

"You're taking the BMW home Jake, so you can leave now" Luca says pointing to the car.

He pouts and gets out of the passenger seat, he lazily walks to the black BMW and gets in the drivers seat.

He drives off and I look back up at Luca, he smiles "let's go home."

"Let's."

He grabs my hand and leads me to the car, I sit in the passenger seat and he shuts the door for me.

He walks around the front of the car and gets in the drivers seat, shutting the door behind him. "Off we go."
