Love Story6 - Chapter 3

Back at the apartment, I went to the corner of the closet and took out that wedding dress.

It took half a year of waiting to get it, but unfortunately, there would never be a chance to wear it now.

This wedding dress was custom-made and couldn't be returned.

I simply took a pair of scissors and cut it up.

After all, leaving it here would only be an eyesore for Cassius.

When I finally left, I took off my ring and placed it on the coffee table.

I didn't take much with me, aside from personal items, I didn't want anything else.

After some thought, I left a note for Cassius, You could dispose of the house and everything in it as you wished, without needing to ask me.' I booked a flight to Paris in the early hours of the morning My best friend had married and moved there earlier in the year, so it was a good opportunity to visit her and clear my mind.

My friend invited me out for shopping and afternoon tea.

In the evening, there was a small gathering with former classmates and old friends.

After several rounds of drinks, someone else pushed open the door and came in.

Several female classmates immediately brightened up: "Darius Blackthorn? You're such a rare guest!"

"Yeah, Darius, what brings you here tonight?"

"I was just discussing some business next door, heard about the old friends' gathering, so I came to join in the fun."

As Darius spoke, his gaze lingered somewhere for a moment before slowly moving away.

My friend quietly pinched me: "Everly, Darius came for you, right?"

I looked at the man with drunken, blurry eyes.

He was even taller than Cassius, wearing a black coat with a matching business suit underneath.

His features were very handsome, his figure well-built, and his legs incredibly long.

I squinted at him for a while before turning away and shaking my head: "That can't be, we haven't been in contact for years."

My friend ignored me and called out directly to Darius: "Darius, could I trouble you to send Everly home later?"

"We've all been drinking, and I don't feel safe calling a ride-share for her."

I looked up at Darius in surprise.

Darius's gaze also passed over the crowd and landed on my face.

After about two seconds, I saw him nod: "Alright."

"Thanks, Darius!"

My friend sat down with a smile and whispered in my ear:

"Everly, sleeping with the same man for seven years is hardly a good deal no matter how you look at it."

"If Cassius can be fickle and flirt around, why can't you start a new chapter?"

"Besides, a prime catch like Darius is not to be missed."

"How do you know he'll sleep with me?"

"The way he looks at you, he's practically undressing you with his eyes, darling."

"Trust me, I've dated eighteen guys, I'm more experienced than you."
