When the video exploded on Ryker's company homepage, I was curled up in Knox's arms, scrolling through my phone.

In the video, Ryker was intimately entangled with a woman, the woman's face was blurred, but Ryker's face was clearly visible.

He was buried in the woman's neck, his words jumbled.

"I can't bear to part with you, but I can't betray my wife..."

One sentence uttered by Ryker himself completely confirmed the fact of his extramarital affair.

The video spread rapidly, deleted posts couldn't keep up with the rate of sharing, causing a huge stir on short video platforms.

Soon, surrounding friends, relatives, and even Ryker's parents found out.

They called to try to comfort me, not knowing that I had long since become numb to it.

That evening when I returned home, I met Sage who had been waiting for a long time at the door.

She looked at me, her face full of the victor's pride.

"Lark, you know everything now, don't you."

"Even with the face blurred, you can tell at a glance that woman is me."

"Yes, I slept with Ryker."

She thought I would break down crying, inconsolable, but I just unlocked the door and went in, sitting on the sofa and quietly looking at her. "Why?"

These short three words seemed to trigger Sage's switch, her composed mask instantly shattered, revealing the fearful, insecure, and hysterical true face inside. "Because I hate you!"

"I'm sick of your aloof demeanor! I hate you, you're the one I hate the most!"

I never thought that one day I would hear "I hate you" from Sage's mouth.

Sage's parents divorced when she was very young, she grew up living with her grandmother, next door to my house.

My parents treated her like their own daughter, and I treated her like my own sister.

When we were in school and others bullied her, I was the first to rush up and argue or fight with them. There's still a scar on my arm from those fights.

We got into the same university, and even when I was in a relationship, I never neglected her.

I thought she was a blessing given to me by heaven, a family member I had chosen for myself.

But today, this "family member" told me that I was the person she hated the most.

Sage became more and more agitated as she spoke, her entire face almost distorted.

"Why were you always the popular one from childhood to adulthood? Why did the only man I ever liked also become your boyfriend?!"

"Why can you get everything effortlessly?!"

"Let me tell you, Ryker just likes my body, he's addicted to having an affair with me, he can't leave me!"

"The day you found out you were pregnant, he was still in bed with me!"

"Ah!!!"

Before she could finish speaking, she was suddenly kicked hard from behind!

Her forehead hit the coffee table, immediately drawing blood.

Sage covered her forehead and looked up, only to find in disbelief that the person who had struck her was actually her dream lover.

Ryker saw the blood on her forehead, but his anger didn't diminish at all. He rushed up and gave her two more slaps. "Bitch!"

"You framed me! You're the one who posted the video online!"

"You ruined my family, ruined my happiness, ruined everything!!!"

Sage's cheeks swelled up high from the slaps, crying and screaming almost hysterically: "Yes! I posted it! Why can you have me when you want and discard me when you don't? Why should I step aside just because she's pregnant?!" "Ryker, let me tell you! You can't escape! I'm going to cling to you for life!"

"You are mine! Even as a ghost, I won't let you go!"

Sage was almost insane. Ryker no longer looked at her, but instead walked towards me, falling to his knees in front of me with a thud.

"Lark...."

"Lark, it's not what you think, let me explain!"

Ryker was crying and pleading, but my heart felt no waves.

"Explain what? Explain why you had an affair with my best friend? Explain why you've been cheating throughout our five years of marriage? Or explain why you were still having car sex with her while I'm pregnant?" My words were like a bolt of lightning, completely striking Ryker.
