Summary

Falling for a cowboy was never the plan. Let alone two.

I’m giving myself one last summer before I have to go back to the real world.

One last chance to say goodbye to the boys I left behind.

Colt is all easy charm and wicked smiles.

Maverick is a quiet storm and rough edges.

Together, they were once my entire world. Best friends, always tangled up in each other.

Until everything fell apart.

Now they ride bulls for a living and the bond between them is more complicated than ever.

Hands that hesitate, then stay. Eyes that don’t look away. That hot, aching tension begging to be broken.

It’s every frayed edge finding its match.

It’s finally having everything we were too afraid to dream of.

Not Colt. Not Maverick.

All three of us.

Together.

What to expect:

  • This isn’t a love triangle. It’s an equal relationship between the two guys and the girl, with all three ending up together.
  • Childhood friends to rivals to lovers
  • Bi-awakening
  • My boyfriends are boyfriends
  • Rival Bull Riders
  • Only for one summer

USA Today Bestselling author J. Wilder writes emotionally charged contemporary romance with toe-curling heat and characters you’ll ache for. If you crave tension, steamy payoff, and found-family feelings that linger, her books are for you.

Author’s Note

I’m pretty sure I could charge this book with attempted murder.

How can something I love so much be so mean?

Midway through drafting, I somehow destroyed my left arm. It started with a sharp pain in my wrist (which, of course, I ignored), and by that night, it had traveled all the way up to my shoulder. I had a choice: delay the release or… learn how to dictate.

Let me tell you, I have never once thought, “You know what my life is missing? Dictation.”

But in the end, it saved the freaking day.

Even if I did learn I mumble everything and apparently say words that are… not the ones I mean.

That said, I am so, so proud of this book.

It pushed me, but these three hold a piece of my heart.

Every now and then, characters come along and steal it entirely. For me, that’s them.

Now.

I know.

We all hate miscommunication.

I get it. I do…

But also? Sometimes? I love it.

So, fair warning: these boys are idiots. Idiots in love. And honestly? That’s kind of my favorite part.

A quick note before we dive in:

I made up my own bull riding organization for this book: The National Bull Riding Association. It does not exist in real life and is not based on the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) organization. Just vibes.

Terms you might see:

Bullfighter – Not the red cape or face paint kind. These are the rodeo athletes who distract the bull after a ride to keep the rider safe. Literal lifesavers.

Wrangler – A cowboy who handles the animals, ropes bulls, and keeps everything running behind the scenes.

Bull Rider – The adrenaline-junkie athlete who rides a 1,500-pound bull for (hopefully) 8 seconds.

Chute – The metal stall where the bull and rider are loaded before the ride begins.

Season – The full bull riding tour year. Events are held in different cities throughout the season, all leading to the championship.
